Re: Projected Starting Lineup 2018-2019

I'd like to see Lewis and 4 of the new guys or if Lewis has a sophomore slump maybe 5 new guys. If we have 5 new fellas that are better than Lewis, Tydus and Williams I'm thinking we're on to something big.

Re: Projected Starting Lineup 2018-2019

Rather the the starting line up, the min. will most likely be in the low 20 range  due to the style of play and I really wonder who will be in at the end of games.

Looking at the names and sizes as well as pedigree , what a box of tools our coach will have next year.

So much depth. The heights may be a little off because Marcus in person looked to be about 6-4 from what I saw. Great depth though, will be a battle for mins

Re: Projected Starting Lineup 2018-2019

What's amazing about that list of players is that Dambrots been on the job for about 8 months and has landed 14 new players. 15 if you count Washington and he got Castro back and got Lewis to stay. That's a lot of work.

Re: Projected Starting Lineup 2018-2019

My starting five for this year with healthy team is
Rene C
Mike L
Eric W
Tydus V
Chas B
Next year
Too many people to even decide minutes will be scattered and based off performance probably.

You keep leaving out Kellon Taylor. Don't you like him?

He won’t get minutes until he gets in basketball shape and knows everything. That’s my assumption

Re: Projected Starting Lineup 2018-2019

I would guess that KT is in basketball shape right now, or will get used to the tempo in very short order.

Also, don't give up on J-Rob. I believe KD will bring out some very good games from this guy, a strong and athletic player. JR needs to watch  out for the inopportune foul situations on defense, and the team needs to get their offense into gear. Dambrot said as much, when he spoke to the lack of quality in the practice sessions. This team isn't clicking yet, as also indicated by Lewis taking only 6 shots against RMU, and not making any of them. This HAS to be an aberration.

Re: Projected Starting Lineup 2018-2019

Mike Lewis II was shut down by McConnell. It was that simple.

It gave Verhoeven and Williams an opportunity to step up. Would have helped to get more from Smith, but it didn't happen. Smith seemed bothered by Washington, the small & quick PG. For those of you who didn't see Dunn-Martin in the open practice, you're going to like him. He'll be the answer to other teams' waterbugs.

I think it was a team effort to shut him down. He was getting doubled and even if they switched to zone it was more of a box and one. If I were coaching against us I would think the most prudent thing to do would be to shut him down and make everybody else earn the win. Which will be hard.

That's 16 plus Smith. Will the scholarship limit still be 13? So Taylor is on a football scholarship and Nick K on academic? So one odd man out?
