Re: Game Thread - Rhode Island Rams

Got to wonder how many fans will brave the cold and show up tonight?  Dukes bounce back and win by 8.

DU along with CMU and Pitt are closed today.
Attendance will be low.
Nonetheless, big game.  If we win, we keep the
momentum.

Re: Game Thread - Rhode Island Rams

Great opportunity with a win to continue the momentum, like Econ noted. At Dayton will be tough, but four VERY winnable games after that (SBU, @Fordham, @LaSalle, GW). Have to think 10-3 or at least 9-4 is in play if we can stay healthy and consistent. But tonight is vital if that's going to happen.

It all hinges on Carry playing meaningful minutes going forward. We can absorb Rotroff's loss somewhat but not the starting PG. Let's hope and pray.

Re: Game Thread - Rhode Island Rams

I'm hoping since the kids are home today driving the parents nuts...the students are all in their dorm rooms together "studying", and many other things are cancelled, that folks might come to the game tonight.

Carry expected to play tonight

I hate myself for loving you. Quoting me without the expressed written consent of the National Hockey League is prohibited.

Re: Game Thread - Rhode Island Rams

Looks like Rhody does a very good job cleaning up the glass and is poor taking care of the ball as of late. Hopefully we can get close to breaking even again and force ~20 TOs and we will be in decent shape

Fatts Russell is a really dangerous player but he's shot the ball excessively poorly this season.

Jeff downtin and cyril Langevin are there other two stars.

Re: Game Thread - Rhode Island Rams

This should be one of the more entertaining games of the year; so I would hate to miss it; just considering the weather.  Perhaps an Uber/Lyft to the front door of the Palumbo would work.  Best to go early and get the parking before the Pens fans.
Priorities: control Russel and Downtin off the dribble; make them jump shooters and put a body on Langevin on every shot; he is a beast on the glass, that we must control.
Challenge Langevin inside on offense, and make him work on defense; perhaps get him in foul trouble.

Re: Game Thread - Rhode Island Rams

Yeah hopefully being forced to stay in your 2X2 dorm room all day will make it easier for student to justify walking down to see a game.

Re: Game Thread - Rhode Island Rams

I hope I'm wrong, but since it usually starts in late January, one wonders if this is the beginning of the dreaded February free fall that has plagued this program for years now.  Last year at this time Dambrot's club was 14-6, but only managed to win two of its final twelve games.

C'mon Dukes, don't let it happen again!

Re: Game Thread - Rhode Island Rams

Only good thing about this game is that Carry was healthy enough to play.

I can see a 4 game losing streak.  Dayton & Bona will be difficult.   But i dont see a drop like last year.

Yeah, but last year, the record was done with smoke and mirrors. I think more is expected out of this roster.
