Playing Austin Peay at St. Pete Tourney and then probably LA Tech Coaching Box infraction is a Class B Technical. Rule 10 Art. 2 f states, The head coach may stand but must remain completely and clearly in his coaching box. One warning shall be issued to the head coach before any subsequent infraction is penalized. Class B technical one free throw should be awarded. The announcers said Coach D was hit with a T for being out of the box. That was not true because the Penn State player was awarded 2 free throws for first technical. Coach D was assessed an unsportsmanship technical for both T's Class A Technical, thus 4 free throws were given. The EKU game the officiating was probably worse and AD Harper was sitting directly in front of me on the floor and numerous times he was furious of the calls. He pulled out his phone immediately on some of the calls and one time walked towards the locker room tunnel to make a call. I am sure he was calling the league officials/office. It is funny the worst coach we had Ferry seem to get calls in our favor. Rod Scott passed away at Presby today - Rest in Peace Rod As of today there are no true out of conference road games; RMU and Pitt at PPG Paints, they have bought all home games to get wins; no Penn State this year and Bahamas trip is a question mark, maybe Las Vegas instead Source told me - Major Commitment from University, a good salary and 7 year contract and yes Ferry should have been fired In Ron's last year they did play a Div II school in DC, but was part of a tournament - no control over it. In 2010-11 season they opened with Bluefield State and then played at RMU and lost - I think they regret opening with Bluefield State now. I never blamed Ferry on WVU game, just curious and I said it could be scheduling conflict. In 2011-12 season WVU had a conflict with their scheduling and could not play Duquesne that year, but they did give up their home game with Duquesne, thus 2010-11 season and 2012-13 season Duquesne played WVU at Consol and Duquesne won, so I can't see WVU not playing Duquesne since they don't play Pitt. It could be a conflict in scheduling, but would be nice if Athletic Department said due to scheduling problems, WVU will not be on the schedule, but will be on next year or two years from now. As far as playing Buffalo, Toledo or Delaware top 100 programs over AC, NJIT, etc 300 programs - I will leave up to true College basketball fans. Some observations on OOC schedule: The City Game is scheduled for Friday December 5th With VA Tech firing their coach - could the Dukes go after another hometown boy in Montour's Devin Wilson. Wilson was recruited by the Dukes under both Everhart and Ferry. Devin is a true point guard who started all 30 games as a freshmen for VA Tech in ACC. He averaged 9.2 points a game and 3.3 rebounds a game. At 6-4 gives good size to the point guard position. To make room for the transfer Ferry would have to get rid of one of his guards. A great opportunity for Colter to transfer to a smaller Div. I school sit out a year to gain more basketball knowledge. Could be a win-win situation Duquesne gets a true point guard to team with other home towner in Mason and LIU gets the guard they always wanted.

Like ElDuque - Why no WVU? Who said - "Two great coaches, two great programs - that is bad for college athletics, Shame on both of them." Duquesne coach Jim Ferry on Pitt and West Viriginia for not playing each other this season. Who said - "I want to play Pitt every year, I want to play West Viriginia every year, I want to play Robert Morris, I want to play Penn State. I think it is great for the fan base, I think its great for Western Pennsylvania." - Good Old Jimmy Ferry. There could be scheduling conflicts, but just curious for the reason.
Some say RMU has passed us by as number 2 in the city: RMU OOC schedule this season - (RPI # - last year's final RPI) North Carolina (RPI 19) and Georgetown (RPI 84) in a tournament, @Clemson (RPI 62), @Toledo(RPI 41), Delware (RPI 67), Buffalo (RPI 94)
Duquesne OOC schedule - @Abilene Christian (RPI 348), NJIT (RPI 303), Howard (RPI 331), Saint Francis (RPI 299), UMass Lowell (RPI 290), Maryland Eastern Shore (RPI 344), Texas Pan American (RPI 317), rivalry games Pitt (RPI 32), Penn State (RPI 130), Robert Morriss (RPI 122)
Some on this board say A-10 dictates Duquesne's OOC schedule - not true; from Div I coaches and Div I sources some comments - The A-10 suggests you should not play teams higher than a 150 RPI from previous year, of course you need some cupcakes and winning is key and roads wins are better, playing 300 RPI teams at home kills you, important to make sure you can win games to build an RPI
