Obviously, DU90 you have more knowledge of the women's team then most.  I mainly follow the men's team with deep interest and read about the women's team.  With that said, I'll post my opinion based on the "little" I know.
-As with men's basketball, I am sure there isn't a plethora of women's coaches "wanting" to coach at Duquesne.  I'm not saying that's a reason not to try, I'm just stating a brief belief many have.
-  I do not know Dan at all, but looking at his record, he has only had 1 losing season before this year...please correct me if I'm wrong.
- We aren't VCU - not being a smart a-- with this.
-I looked at his assistants and saw that in-house, his top assistant Rick Bell, was an "excellent" HS coach who won where he went.  They also have another former high school coach who was excellent whose names escapes me.

Anyhow, and again, you are better following them than me.  I would give him another year.

Duq Blu, I agree with just about everything you said EXCEPT  when I see Robert Morris hockey n basketball covered more than Duquesne. Also, and it has been this way for years, since Pitt is bigger they get more coverage (I understand) and when the papers were stronger over the last 15 years Duquesnes coverage has been poor.

That I put on their media department. When I hear college hockey n other basketball scores… someone from DU needs to form a relationship with these folks.
I am also being polite.

Sincere -noncombative comment:  I don't know what those stats tell us for that particular game.  I love stats but we know they can be misleading.  Other than the airball Jake shot, he had a couple of nice shots and definitely did better on defense.  Dixon had No points, 5 fouls, I think only 3 rebounds and yes he was on the bench a lot, but did little to contribute when he was in.  Hugley played most of the game and if I had to give him a letter grade it would be a B minus.  I agree with all of the rest...just my opinion.

Cooped up I decided to rewatch the Dukes vs BYU in the tournament. A few things crossed my mind.
-Necas-Dixon-Jake all started and played the majority of time in that win. Necas seems to have lost some confidence, Jake seems to have lost a step, and Dixon looks like he is at the same level he was then. He hasn’t digressed but hasn’t improved much.

-Though they aren’t Clark and Grant? Williams n G. “Are the replacements” and a little below those 2, but not a lot below. So with 3 of that 5 still here, and a similar bench, I sincerely ask what has happened?

One thing I do know is when they played that game, they were Rated 25th in the country in defense. Maybe that’s the whole issue. Aren’t we last?

Dear Season Ticket Holders,

At the Dayton game, a number of us were surrounded by Dayton Fans.  The problem is, they were sitting in a number of seats held by season ticket holders.  Please, and I say this sincerely, unless you really need the money, please don't do that!  It's hard enough to get supporters and this makes it worse.  If you can't find anyone to sell your tickets to who support DU basketball, just gift them to a neighbor.  Thanks for considering.

I agree 100%. I also miss the stats.

The team, the season thus far should be a surprise to no one. We Could be Pitt, who is last in the ACC for men’s and whose women’s team lost to the Dukes for the third year in a row. They have put a lot of money into both.

Dru isn’t going anywhere. Do you think DU has the money to hire a proven excellent coach?  Plus, it’s only year 2. He has 5. The offense does well and the defense is poor. My hope is he hires an excellent defensive minded coach next year. As far as this year, it’s not over, but again, we were picked where we deserved to be picked in the A10.

They play excellent defense n we have trouble getting off any 3 point shots.

Dukes have bigger concerns than Hughley.  I didn’t see him influencing many games at all against a strong team when he played. 

We need defense, we need Dixon to stop fouling so much, and need to get Jake n Max more time. This year, like last year, I look at our games and wonder if we have a chance to win. It’s a feeling I had 4, 5, n 6 years ago.

Sure wish we could go into a game and think we “should” win. This is Dru year 2 and I’m still giving him 5 years.
