I think the point is that on paper they have a real solid team. Can anyone point out this type of highly positive news about a Duquesne team since the 70s? Mike Rice recruits or maybe Everhart's first class.... I mean I've seen one picking them #1 and another at #2. I'm not a dreamer especially when it comes to the Duke's but we might have something here.

El P what's with this crowd? Although at this point it really is speculation I can't remember a Duquesne being touted that highly and I grew up going to games at the arena in the early seventies. Wouldn't it be a great thing if Dambrot could actually get them to the tournament and maybe even win a game

This could be the best Duquesne team since 70-71.Its got size with experience to play defense and we will
be good at rebounding, terrific depth, some quick athletic guards who can shoot and good leaders.Only question is can these guys stay healthy. All systems go for a NCAA appearance. The only thing we dont have are local kids playing for Dukes. Definetly traveling to Pittsburgh next winter.Wish Mossie was here.

Stew ur on . I myself thought that earlier. This has the potential to be the best Duquesne team since the early seventies. What was sorely missing last year was the lack of a legitimate big guy. I admire rotroff but this guy to me appears Head and shoulders above. Just look at the tape and his statistics.

Yes, I would expect this guy to be a clear step up from Rotroff. I'm getting that from the clips of him playing. In addition his statistics are pretty good for a limited amount of playing time not to mention the ACC ppl

It would be great if we could get a Bailee Steele type of guy. They do badly need a post player.

Didn't they play some kind of thing over the intercom of a train running? I was only about five or six years old at the time. My father used to always say he bled red and blue. I'm in that camp but exhausted from being completely insignificant.

Frickin early 70s as the end was coming from being a powerhouse to being a Doormat for PITT...my father is rolling in his grave

Late to the party. Stew is exuberant. I must say that I'm a bit happy about this has he has really nice stats from his previous experience. We need a big dude

2 more things:
-Mike Hughes was not an upper echelon A-10 player as evidenced by his never having been recognized by the conference as a player of the week or as an all-defensive team member or most improved player or best newcomer & certainly not as a member of any of the 9 all-conference teams for which he was eligible. I firmly believe he had the body, skills, & experience to be one of the 8-10 best players in the league but he was ridiculously immature, wasn't willing to give up his histrionics for the good of the team, & was universally disliked by A-10 officiating crews. He is also my favorite example of KD's inability to command respect & discipline from his most talented/challenging players.

-I find it telling that the same folks that have consistently stuck-up for KD by saying how challenging it was for him to navigate through the mess of not having a home court for almost 2 seasons, (the last 4 home games of the 20-21 season were played at The Coop.), never seem to bring up the fact that he has had a beautiful new arena, swanky locker rooms, & really nice training facilities to sell to18-20 year-olds & their families for far longer than the home court problem existed. I agree that it must have sucked to deal with the nomadic existence for coaches, players, & administrators. I also know that there are two sides to every coin.

(Please don't point out that it is not a "new" facility. It looked/looks very new to every recruit & their families that have never seen or likely even heard of the AJ Palumbo center.)

Do you think the sparkly Coop. locker rooms, & that killer weight room wasn't a tremendous advantage over what was on offer from  Lasalle, SBU, Fordham, GW, St. Joe's, UMass, & 40 other mid-major programs that didn't get a major upgrade to recruit with coming out of COVID?

I realize that when the arena renovation etc.. was planned nobody in the PR department could have foreseen this outcome but, DU very much appeared to have made its s

This is indeed disappointing. I'm a long timer in and out. My son and myself went and as usual they came up empty. In fact, I told my son they really have not had a strong top 20 type team in my life, except for the very early 70s, which I can barely remember. I'm numb to losing when it comes to Duquesne.

Was Dixon still hurt?

This might be the biggest game in the "new" facility to date. Tickets were a bit sparse

Jumping in a bit late here but I bought tickets on Friday and I could see how the seat selection was dissipating. I'm just wondering how many Davidson fans are going to be in attendance
