Re: TJ a Sixer

I hope he makes it.

Mike White          @mwhiteburgh Not drafted but TJ McConnell will sign with Sixers. Will play in Utah and Vegas summer leagues with team.

I hope he makes it, but I think he'll be the next Timbo Patterson.

Re: TJ a Sixer

The Timbo who dated a Miss Pennsylvania, or the Timbo who fled the state to avoid Knuckles and Muggsy after a bad Super Bowl wager?

Re: TJ a Sixer

The Timbo who, while a very good intramural player, somehow managed to finaggle his way into a tryout for the Sixers.  He got a brand new pair of basketball shoes out of the deal if I recall correctly, which made it a great success.

Re: TJ a Sixer

A guy I played softball with for years tried out with the Phillies. He was our centerfielder. On any ball hit to him, it was typical to hear, "I got it, I got it ... ohhhhhhhhhhhh! <Rhymes with Piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitt>!

He didn't stick with the Phils either.

Re: TJ a Sixer

I hadn't thought of Timbo for years before this.  He certainly was someone who could best be described as a character and whose activities could best be described as antics.

Re: TJ a Sixer

Philly papers confirm that TJ got a partially guaranteed contract, so he'll get at least $100k this season.  Also sounds like he may have been guaranteed a spot on Development team for the year.

Good for TJ!  That's a whole lot better than a pair of ProKeds.

Re: TJ a Sixer

To all who knew Timbo Patterson, I was told today that he died this past weekend.  I knew him pretty well years ago  and I knew him to be a good guy.  He was a character and he had his issues but he wasn't mean spirited or malicious.  He had a great sense of humor.  As for basketball, he was a very good shooter as I recall.

God rest his soul.
