I will admit that the length of the shorts worn as part of a basketball uniform in the 1950s,1960s, 1970s was too short.  In 1984 Michael Jordan started wearing his shorts longer, and this eventually transformed the standard basketball uniform to have much longer shorts.  However, I find the length of the shorts to be ridiculously long as shown on the photos of the Dukes' new uniforms for this season.  This is particularly evident on shorter players such as Derrick Colter and to a lessor degree on Micah Mason.  Colter's shorts appear to be mid-calf.  Clearly too much fabric for something we still refer to as shorts.  It looks sloppy!  I think that knee length would be much better, especially if the inseam would be adjusted to the height of the player.  Not likely to happen though.

I like the uniform with the team's name in three dimensional lower case letters as worn during the mid-1970s when Norm Nixon played for the Dukes.

I love the throwbacks!  Maybe I should ask for them to make me one with "The Voice" on the back of it.
