Dukes at the Blue Sky Classic in New Hampshire

Dukes (10-1) lead Dartmouth (1-9), only 25-19 at the half.  Jocelyn Floyd leads the Dukes with 10 pts., 6 rebounds and 2 steals.  Dukes are shooting only 28.1% from the field.  Perhaps the Dukes are a bit stale from the several day lay-off from their victory over WVU last week.  The Dukes should win this game by at least 20 pts. over a very weak Dartmouth team.   Second half starts with the Dukes being very cold.

Delaware beat Villanova in the first game of the tournament.

Re: Dukes at the Blue Sky Classic in New Hampshire

Dukes win over Dartmouth, 54-39.  The Dukes will play Delaware tomorrow in the championship game at 7 PM. Terrible shooting night for the Dukes: FG - 30% (21-70); 3 pts.-22-2%; and FT-57.1%(8-14).  Some impressive defensive stats: turnovers - Dukes 11, Dartmouth 25; steals - Dukes 14, Dartmouth 5; and rebounds - Dukes 46, Dartmouth 42.

Floyd was clearly the star of the game for the Dukes with 16 pts. and 16 rebounds.  Freshman April Robinson had another good game with 10 pts., 6 rebounds and 4 steals.  Belma Nurkic also had 10 pts. for the Dukes.

Delaware will have their All-Amercian player on the court tomorrow.  The Dukes can't afford to shoot this poorly against the Blue Hens if they hope to win.

Re: Dukes at the Blue Sky Classic in New Hampshire

In what may be one of the poorest offensive performances by the Dukes in recent memory, the Dukes are down 22-12 at the half.  Dukes' FG % for 1st half was 16.7 (3-18).  Delaware shot 33.3% (6-18).  Neither team has made a 3 pointer.  Robinson leads the Dukes in scoring with 6 pts. and Floyd leads with 4 rbs.  All-American Elena Delle Donne had 4 pts. and 7 rebounds for the Fighting Blue Hens.

The Dukes shot very poorly in yesterday's game as well.  This game is clearly not out of reach, but somebody has got to start scoring for the Dukes.

Re: Dukes at the Blue Sky Classic in New Hampshire

Rough game tonight.

This team can not count on any significant contribution from Orsi.   She can no longer be considered inconsistent.   She has not been close to the player she shown flashes of her freshman year.

Unfortunately, SMS has no options but to play her.   Wumi can't do it alone.
