Congrats to Duquesne alumnus Derrick Colter, on earning his degree.

Dukes win, IF, they go inside and get ugly. Derrick and Micah hit 3's only after setting up the battle in the paint. then the game goes inside out. The best teams win inside, first. We have the muscle this year in the paint. If we win, (and we should) it's "inside-out". Also, please don't let the opponent role the ball in late in the game, when we are ahead !! Just looks so weak, and we empower the opponent? Send a guard down to force the in-bound and start the clock. Don't give the opponent anything, ever!! Go Dukes. Keep surprising me and win !!!!!!! By most game predictors, this is close, but the Dukes are getting stronger inside. This is a winnable game. GO DUKES.

Napa,
Usually, (watch it next few times) when the ball is left rolling, it seems that the offense looks disjointed and is worse off than the defense. It is senseless to try to save a couple seconds that way, as it obviates any sense of pacing and play-making. It can't be of help to an offense to be waiting to see when the ball will finally be picked up.
Seems like a smaller scale version of the "2 minute defense" in football. Or like taking out a set-up man in baseball who struck out the side in the 8th inning, in favor of putting "The Closer" in.
Dumb practices that retain their status as good tactics.

This cost the Pirates a pennant back in 1972.

I'd venture most folks are picking Georgia Tech here, and that you could get probably 3 to 1 odds on the Dukes or a -9 to -10 spread in favor of Georgia Tech when the lines come out. It's not necessarily a game that DU should win...though there is a chance.

Maybe at the end of the game, it means nothing, just don't like to see it, just encase it does.

ESPN 3 is not in my DISH package. Does anyone know of a good way to get this game on video streaming?

Apple there is a link in the Official Site Article I posted above.

Thanks, CLK. Didn't realize there was a hotlink there.

Tech looks like they got some beef.

Going to be a big challenge on the boards. "Tech is out-rebounding its opponents by 10.8 per game, which ranks seventh in the nation and No. 3 in the ACC behind Louisville and Pittsburgh. Tech is No. 3 in the ACC and 13th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (14.9)."

I sure hope we get 85K to beat them. We've paid for enough beatings of our own the past few years so it would be nice to turn the tables.

It's my understanding that the money earned from playing Georgia Tech will be used by Duquesne to cover the travel expenses of the men's basketball team for its trip to Ireland in August.

Congratulations to Derrick! Now that's he's an alum, he can log on to the boards and reminisce about the good 'ol days. He just have to decide if the good 'ol days are 50 years ago, 7 years ago, or today.
Really, kudos to a kid who has started for four years, earned his degree in three and a half, and beat cancer to boot.

latest odds = Duquesne a 10 point underdog

Interesting. Odds Shark, a pretty reputable Las Vegas gaming source, has odds at eight (8) in favor of GT, but projects GT by a 71-69 final.

Haha when Castro got stuffed going to the hoop he literally got two inches of elevation putting up the layup.

Tysean Powell just blows my mind at times with his athleticism. If he can cut down on the cerebral flatulence, this kid is going to be a stud.

Overall good first half. We looked tough on the interior defense and rebounded well. Gave up a lot of open looks from three though. Mason going off. Hope they pull it out
