Chalk Up Another Win

Lady Dukes beat Fordham 55-38 -  Fordham's offense is very methodical (they probably killed us in Time of Posession) Still a comfortable win in a game the Lady Dukes did not shoot particularly well.

ON TO RHODE ISLAND!!!

Re: Chalk Up Another Win

Stephanie Gaitley Fordhams coach confused me greatly.  Fordham was never quite in the game.   But except for a third quarter time out she never called time out.   Granted, her only time out came after a DU third quarter run.

But she just sort of sat on her time outs in the first half when they were hanging in the game.  Amadea stepped up this game.  Always seems to be someone different which is an excellent sign.

Re: Chalk Up Another Win

What did you want Gaitley to do?  The first media came exactly as DU was on their run to start the game, so no TO was necessary.

Her best player, Samantha Clark, struggled mightily on the offensive end for stretches of the game.  Otherwise, the game was going much the way Fordham wanted it.  It was played to where the winner was in the 50s.  Fordham led the rebounding battle and had only 12 turnovers.  If you actually call timeout at some point, you also run the risk of Burt getting the game sped up...something you didn't want to do.  Also, remember with the new rules in women's basketball that a timeout in the last minute allows a team to advance the ball much like in the NBA.  Gaitley has been a believer in saving them to advance the ball to halfcourt late if needed in the last minute.
