Offline This is incredible. Those refs are gonna need a police escort out of the building. Look poised so far holding the lead and slowing it down on offense, making plays Offline Beyond our rooting interest, it is really entertaining! Agreed. I've seen people on Twitter claiming it is awesome who don't have a rooting interest. Offline Colter and Mason leading this team like seniors Offline Powell got screwed now. Offline SLOW IT DOWN!!!! Offline Agreed. Jackson showing his lack of experience when launching that three. Offline This is an incredible game. Hold on, Dukes! Offline Gotta run clock and limit possessions Offline Christ. We choked. Offline First time this year we choked down the stretch when we had a lead Offline First time this year we choked down the stretch when we had a lead Agreed. That said, this atmosphere is just a wee bit more intense than the other environments. Offline They made sure Mason wouldn't get a shot off. Double teamed him, and stole the ball twice. Stole one from Jackson as well, and let some rebounds get away that let Dayton start rolling. Offline They also wisely fouled him so he could only get two shots instead of a three pointer in the closing seconds. That kid knew what to do with the game on the line. Credit to coaching for that. Offline Despite the loss, I think it's safe to say the boys can use this one as a confidence booster for the rest of the schedule Offline Sorry, no moral victory. Color me disappointed. Ferry and the Dukes choked. I have seen this same horror movie before against Dayton. Offline Sorry, no moral victory. Color me disappointed. Ferry and the Dukes choked. I have seen this same horror movie before against Dayton. Offline CLK, we will probably be labeled as negative, non-Ferry supporters, and anything else a few of the folks on this board like to call us, but I totally agree that this was no moral victory. I don't know if the word is choked, and that's how you are free to label it, but either way, I agree that ALMOST is over with...has been for 5 years. Again, I can NOT imagine next year without our two guards. I must say that they played hard and gave it their all! It will be interesting to see first, how they will respond on Sunday and second, if anyone besides a few of us will even come out to watch any more...maybe they have to pay the students. If Duquesne can only figure out that if their basketball team flourishes, more money will come into the University!! Another loss...hmmm, and I'll tell you what, this is the second game in a row where Ferry got called for a technical. Yes, I was at the game Saturday with the bad calls and of course watched it today. This guy needs to get himself under control. If I am the AD, I need to talk to him now!! Two technicals in a row... It's funny, on some boards, I see fans complaining when a coach never gets t-ed up when his team is getting bad calls. They say the coach is passive, and has no fire, and that the refs won't respect you if you don't stand up to them. I know you can't wait for Ferry to be fired, so we can start from zero again. Offline FAM, I felt that the Dukes would win, and they should have won. The coaching in the last 5 minutes was no existent. The Dukes stopped playing defense, and could not handle the pressure. The Dukes choked. I don't give a rat's ass what anyone labels me. Offline The play of Coulter and Mason has been key, but sometimes the high scoring and failure to distribute the ball and getting caught up in double teams with turn overs hurts. Dayton didn't bother to foul DC when his wild penetration shots kept missing, his far out three's when he was not set were also given up. Two games now James has been a non scoring factor, after being an offensive threat with power drives, hard to do when you don't get the ball. Offline FAM if I'm not mistaken it's two in a row and either 4 or 5 for the year on the technicals. I might be in the minority but that does nothing for your team and also gives them the green light to question calls. Dayton played 10 guys. Once again 40 minutes for your guards and a 7 man rotation. Something has to give especially when you are playing man to man defense. To waste what IMHO was their best game of the year is disgraceful!!! I have a real problem with what went on the last 5 minutes of the game. A missed layup, ill advised shots, turnovers, and a lack of offensive sets that resulted in throwing up deep off balanced threes. However, I can't really blame ferry for the technicals. The officiating the past few games has been incredibly frustrating at times. The anger has been building up for some time. We don't want to give up free points, but I certainly don't mind the coach sticking up for his guys Offline So 81 your willing to accept a baby step forward every two to three years because this movie is on replay for at least the next 3-4 years. You can not deny this team had no idea what to do. They have no idea how to control tempo, they play at one speed. And besides James disappearing how about Gill's 33 minutes 2 dunks, 4 fouls, 6 rebounds. 3 really bad 3's thrown up. Offline this is what happens when:

Play of the game, with a double digit lead, Powell misses the free throw and then they turn it over under the hoop. Game over!
This team still doesn't know how to "win."

Dayton is a hard place to play, but not impossible to win at, just not with the Dukes game plan the last 5 min.
And finally, why did no one come out to Mason when they doubled him 35 ft from the basket ?

1. you play your 2 best players 38-40 every game. they lose their legs down the stretch, make bad decisions and run out of gas
2. you don't have any answer for the defensive coaching move made by the opposing coach.
3. you allow your offense to be 1 pass(and in some cases 0 passes) and launch a 3 by anyone not named micah mason, when your bigs are clearly not in position for a rebound
i feel like the dome has been saying this stuff all year, but its been masked when playing poor teams and sticks out like a sore thumb against upper tier teams
i predicted 16 wins at beg of season, and i am def happy to be wrong as i think they can get to 18 or 19. talent wise, i think this team could make a nice run in a10 tourney, however, with no bench, they will most likely run out of gas
next year, without mason and colter, will be scary. i hope ferry can land a grad transfer true PG to step in and start from day 1. I'm assuming transfers are going to happen. they happen every year, to every team.
