[color=#000000]Today's released AP Women's Poll shows that the Dukes received more votes (22) than last week (12) in the list of Others Getting Votes and now has sole possession of the 30th spot. Last edited by godukes1970 (2/15/2016 3:42 pm) Duquesne got votes from 6 AP voters. 4 of the six voters appeared to cover mainly mid major teams. One of the voters was from Arizona and another from Columbus. It was nice to see that two voters from Pac-12 and Big 10 territory recognized DU. You know the Minnesota ranked 76th in the RPI....no top 25 wins... Call me crazy, but I don't mind that much SteelCityVoice. They're 10-4 in the B1G, which is coincidentally the time that Allina Starr, an Auburn transfer who is a very good defensive specialist, became eligible. They're actually a sleeper candidate to make the NCAAs, and are currently on the first four out list on my bracketology. That may even be too low. It's the type of team the selection committee and the type of voters that tend toward P5 schools like, and I fully understand why. They are 10-4 and have not played any of the top 3 B1G teams yet. I can understand if they beat OSU, Maryland, or MSU. Lost to 15-10 Michigan twice. They are 10-4 and have not played any of the top 3 B1G teams yet. 24th from Oklahoma
24th from Ft Meyer's Florida (wonder if the men's tourney helped there?)
25th from Laramie, Wyoming
25th from Phoenix
Question: Can anyone explain how South Florida is ranked #19? Use this years results only.
Re: Dukes in the National Polls
I don't think the men being in that tournament helped. Since the writer is from Ft Myers and FGCU is there, the writer probably pays more attention to non Power 5 conference teams.
The Oklahoma writer is in B12 territory so writers from three P5 dominated areas.

Debbie Antonelli is the one who said she's been watching Duquesne since "Wilson's" triple-double.

I'm assuming that that she was referring to April "Shorty" Robinson. •
