There's no reason we can't play teams in the bottom half of the power conferences. Have to play Pitt and RMU. I like Penn State on the schedule. Kentucky is a good add. I would have either a Florida or Cali trip, a Jersey trip or Lehigh Valley, a decent Midwestern game. Play where we have either an alumni base or recruiting targets. I know that's a lot of variables but it beats starting with the bottom 10 RPI teams. Would also help put fannies in the seats.

Bottom half P5 teams aren't coming to Palumbo. Just like every other program, they want mostly home games, with maybe a regional home and home, plus one game as a road whore. No one wants to play tough games, especially against teams that rank below you. It trickles down until you get to the low majors, who end up having to absorb all of the road games. BE won't play at A10. A10 won't play at MAAC, MAAC won't play at NEC. NEC goes on the road.

Yeah, I can see why they'd be afraid to face Duquesne and 125 rabid fans at Palumbo. They have to play someone. If need be, then play more road games to beef up the schedule.
