Following thought provoking posts by both Ken and 102: Regarding steel, his shooting percentage was impressive but he has some areas of his game, specifically ball handling, that he needs to improve to become a big contributor to this team. I'm hopeful that he will make an Eric James-type jump next year. There's clearly some talent there Following thought provoking posts by both Ken and 102: I hope you're right about Lewis. A big year from him would be a game changer. Assuming they still want a 6'10" or better guy in the post this would have been a good year to bring him in. So next year with Lewis gone the guy would have had some experience. We can hope to get more out of Lewis this year but I just don't see him making significant improvement. Should not Robinson be groomed as a one year heir apparent? With Sanders and Mike flanking him, assuming all develop, could make a nice front court in two years. Then an incoming big can be groomed behind Robinson. You can be big up front without a 6'10" or better guy though. Those guys are hard to come by. I'd be very happy with a couple of 6'8" bruisers in the front court. I just don't want 6'6" guys trying to play center. You can be big up front without a 6'10" or better guy though. Never before a front line with likes of bigs Lewis, Robby and Sanders. They have the hops to make a statement like never before. Perimeter play in hands of sharp shooter Steel with his back-up (Littleson), no slouch, and wily vet Abrahamson to boot. "Take it to the house" Blackman alongside the Do It All, James, this year's contender for A-10 honors and emerging team leader. Lest we forget Mike? Young, quick and smart playmakers Smith and Lewis round out real promise in 2016. Uh, oh, first Duquesne fan of the season in the deep end of the pool! Whoever said Abrahamson was wily? As in coyote? "You can't say something nice......say nothing."
+ This time last year Josh Steel was center of attention. Now, almost an afterthought. With only limited playing time yet hitting 50% beyond arc, he deserves to be the apparent 2016 heir to Micah @ 4, otherwise look for him on the dreaded Transfer list in 2017.
+ Three new frosh, on paper, appear to be the best quality group of any in DU memory. Coach Ferry now has an unenviable task ahead of him in dishing court time. And given yet another likely(?) losing record in 2017, risks major roster exodus.
+ Look for big year from Darius Lewis as his experience and confidence continues to grow. Case in point, his free throw shooting at year end 2016 and at tourney time, with chips down, was arguably the best of any DU big man, ever.
