It is time to get on the record. Post your guess as to the number of wins including the A10 Tourney, but not post season. You can change your prediction up until the first regular season game (after the exhibition game). Based on the talent we have and the schedule, I estimated that if things come together well, we could win 24. If our inexperience shows and we don't put it together, we could win 14. I decided to meet in the middle, so I'm going with 19. This team is much more complete on paper then last year's where we were very reliant on two players. Wow. We have two returning starters, one of whom (James) may be bumped to 6th man. Three guys who never played together or for the Dukes might be the team's top scoring options (Smith, Blackman, Abrahamson). Two young big men (Sanders, Mike) might force their way into the starting lineup. Castro is still a wild card.
Since my head isn't ready to do this yet (maybe by the deadline), I'll go with my heart:
10-3 OOC, including a win over Pitt
10-8 A-10
2-1 in the A-10 tournament
20-11 before and 22-12 after the A-10s. We're tuned into ESPN on a Sunday night, and with a couple good wins on our schedule, we dance.

and in the miracle of all miracles- the miracle on 5th avenue, dukes beat dayton in a10 finals in Pittsburgh, to earn first ncaa bid in decades!
I also predict web will start season with some great thread titles(like Ferrys amazing defensive game plan puts a can on canisius; and Ferrys brilliant out of bounds strategy helps to kennel the umbc retrievers) but will disappear after losing streak; El duque will give up and stop posting late january(after 5 game losing streak to dayton, GW, RI, Davidson, and Richmond{that is a brutal stretch} ;the dome will make excellent basketball points as to why the dukes record is deceiving against not very good opponents, some of the more unrealistic fans with disagree with him, but it will turn out he was right all along. we won't beat pitt and will lose the 4-13 matchup to UVA.

Not because I think this is how many games the team will win in year 5 of the Ferry Era, but because this is how many games I think the coach should win this year given the schedule and support he has had so far. He put the team in position to get to the 20 wins I wanted in his fourth year before presiding over a horrible late season collapse, let's see if he can do better this year.
Our women's team is a success, the men's team needs to copy them.

Back in the days when the Edmund Fitzgerald was a popular radio hit, I was a young traveling salesmen with long hair a little over my ears and a Duquesne Fan who never saw the collapse coming, dropping to the bottom with DAP, Nee and Company.
Ferry seems to be bringing in better players , but the constant turnover of good players and unfulfilled potential on others has disappointed. But I never seem to give up, btw, I always enjoy when you post.
