We're going to party like it's 1955!!!

When I wrote my book on the 1955 national champion Dukes it was the stories of celebrations of huge victories that I enjoyed the most.  Tonight we got to have one of those experiences.  It was incredible. If you want to read about the team the book it called Kings on the Bluff and you can find it on Amazon.

Read it. Great stuff. Some of us old timers here take grief for wanting to hang onto our past, but it all comes alive when we have wins like this.

I read this book cover to cover, non stop, it is so interesting.

The Dick Ricketts domination is so amazing since this was happening when I was 5 and 6 and 6 years before I discovered Duquesne Basketball.

Ricketts was a 6-7 forward who along with Si Green were true consensus All -America players who were the toast of college basketball players in their era. Until this tome I did not realize Ricketts true dominance and yes Michael Jordon, Dick also played Major League Baseball for several years.

This is why I was annoyed at the broadcast crews ignorance at the Kentucky game, they should have researched the amazing fact of two consecutive no. one draft picks rather than belittle them because of being uninformed of their stature.

A diehard fan since 1961
