Pistol my good friend. I disagree with the 1 year, being Duquesne I suggest give the coach a 4 year extension. Be bold after all it's a young team. Secondly, that crack AD staff has survived 3 AD's 5 coaches no brainier my friend. I firmly believe that Duquesne can continue this success for another 40 years. GO DUKES😂😂😂 Spend more $$$$

Pistol, are you advocating that Ferry gets one more year or just saying DU will give him one more year because they can't stomach eating the remainder of his contract?  As I have said previously, I just don't see them eating $670K or more.  I'm afraid we are stuck in this nightmare until the end of his contract.  Thanks Amodio!  Ron, the only coach with consistent, good results in the last 40 years wasn't good enough for this very poor excuse for a Division I basketball program.

When I think of recruiting I always remember what one of the former Dukes who played on the last NCAA team once told me when I was happy with the recruits one year, He said " Phil, they all look good on paper" .

Now these recruits we had high hopes for are gone and maybe leaving. Names like Powell, Gill , Steele, M. Jackson, etc, etc. gone elsewhere , and we have a young team that may end the year very badly.

And really, not that many really great players because those ones wouldn't come here in the first place.

I would not be surprised if they give him another year. Nothing they do surprises me. Josh S. had potential, played on England's Olympic Team Ibwas told... and was talented. With the right coach who knows??

If every person on this board...not that many of us are left - email Mr. Harper it can only help.  Please don't say it won't do any good.  It could not do any worse than us writing on here like the deranged - depressed - and delusional (I know, no points for small-time alliteration) fans we have become.  He listens and I can tell you that it will help.  Take anything you have posted and send it in.  Sending this information to the President does not hurt either, but sending it to the AD is a must.  If you already did, do it again.

Watching the game on TV it appeared there was a small crowd as there usually is for the Cooper Classic.  And as usually happens when we get a small crowd, we lose and those fans don't come back.  Top that with not just losing, but getting blown out.  Please email him.

A question...  From strictly a coaching standpoint, is there anything that you have seen in Jim Ferry's 145 games at Duquesne to make you think that he can take Duquesne to the next level (NCAA Tourney)?

If you say no, then he must go after this year. No point in delaying the inevitable.

Harper has to realize that a change needs to be made, the question is, will the higher ups allow him to make the change. From a dollar standpoint, they will have to pay Ferry for the next two years regardless. The extra money is whatever they will have to pay the new coach. My guess is that the new coach will cost less than Ferry, because they won't be able to land the type of coach who would command a larger paycheck. This is where Harper will have to prove his worth. There are guys out there, both low level head coaches, and assistants, who could come here, and do a solid job, probably for less money than Ferry is being paid. The question is, can Harper identify these guys, and then get one to come here. I can remember a few talking heads questioning the hiring of Jim Ferry, because they didn't think his style would translate to the A 10. Don't ignore things like this. The right guy is out there. Go find him.
