Little perspective, shall we?

Re write-up on TJ, the Sixer, in the PG, had interesting facts/opinions which may be of interest to some of the more open-minded folks residing herewith:

1. TJ's coach, Brown, Sixer HC since 2013 has record of 68 - 234 and still at it.

2. TJ says he loves Philly and the fans over Pgh, particularly when with just 10 or so wins a year ago, Philly fans still come-out and even sell-out for their Sixers.

3. Per Mike White, Lebron and Cavaliers had earlier tried to get TJ in trade with Sixers but Sixers said no, thank you.

4. Coach Brown quoted saying it took him 17 Point-Guards to finally find TJ.  He said (TJ) is a guy who attained success because he "just won't go away."  By the way, the 17 also includes the two PG's the Sixers traded for before the season, over TJ.  With TJ now running the show, in January Sixers had better record than LeBron and Cavaliers.

5. TJ averages over 9ppg, near 2 steals, near 5 ribbies and in one game had 17 Assists.

6. As far as one can tell, Philly fans root for their team.

Re: Little perspective, shall we?

There's some tremendous irony here for anyone with the least bit of insight.

TJ left Duquesne for Arizona because he was looking for a greener pasture somewhere. At the time, the Dukes were drawing good crowds, and we had a coach who had a track record of success.

Given the chance to leave Philly for a more lucrative opportunity elsewhere, TJ will disappear faster than half of your socks in the dryer.

So while I appreciate what TJ did while he was at Duquesne and while I wish him much success in the NBA, I think you're trying to fill a canvass with bull and pass it off as a Jackson Pollock.

? If you wouldn't do the same thing you are either lying or out of your mind. If you played a sport your entire life, were super competitive, and your whole life dreamed of going pro, why wouldn't you do what TJ did??? He wanted to put himself in the best possible position to achieve his dreams, and he did exactly that. As a former division one athlete (also at Duquesne, which I love), I would have been out the door in a second if a power house program run like a pro organization with rabid fans came calling. You should enjoy the time we had him not knock him for seeking a better situation.

El d you sound like a jealous old girlfriend, go TJ and go Dukes!

Re: Little perspective, shall we?

If we were on somewhat of a similar level as a conference or even as a program you would have an argument. As it stands, we are their glorified little brother. Let's call it like it is.

Your perspective is a selfish one

You missed my point. Not by a little, either.

But my days of dumbing things down to help folks is over.

This is a bunch of nonsense. You can't compare a college team to a pro team. The Sixers are the pro team representing Philly. Duquesne is a college team that plays in Pittsburgh, one of three playing at the Division 1 level. When basketball fans in Pittsburgh want to see college hoops, they go out to the Pete, where the team has been mostly very competitive over the last 16 years, and where the competition on any given night might be Duke, Louisville, or Carolina, blue bloods of the sport. It's been 45 years since Duquesne offered a similar experience, and you wonder why only a few care about the program. Philly has been losing because they decided to let it hit rock bottom, and rebuild from there. That strategy can work in the pros because awful teams are rewarded with the opportunity to draft elite young talent. The fans realize this, and most agree with the strategy. That doesn't work in college. Crappy teams usually end up with more crappy players.
When a coach has given zero indication in five years that he is up to the task, there is no reason to continue along the same path. The light at the end of Ferry's tunnel is an oncoming train. It might make sense for us to get out of the way.

That makes a lot of sense, now that you've moved on to the position of expert talent evaluator, see Tarin Smith.

I read the lines, not between them my friend.

Your ability to process information is low. I didn't bash TJ and so your response was inappropriate. If I don't respond to you any more, don't take offense.
