We'll block them and Pitt for any players we lose because of the coaching change. what does blocking mean? i think i know players have to sit out a year regardless if the original school "blocks" the transfer or not what does blocking mean? i think i know players have to sit out a year regardless if the original school "blocks" the transfer or not If a player is given a conditional release, they can be prevented from accepting a scholarship from certain schools for the year they have to sit out. Kevin Stallings blocked Jeter from going to Pitt. Jeter still went to Pitt, but he had to pay his own way the first year.
