I'm not sure I've seen this article posted here yet. It's written by Terry Pluto from the Cleveland Plain Dealer; he's legit. Essentially explaining to Akron fans - why Duquesne? It really shows his hunger to get back to the NCAA's. He's got a fan base with just as much hunger. Not that he didn't at Akron, but now we're heading towards the 41st anniversary of our last trip and have the longest streak of not getting to the Final Four of any school in the country. PS, did anyone see the AP article ranking the top 100 programs all-time?
Duquesne finished 78th on the list, even though it's been a while since we had an RPI that high. When I was a freshman, we had the FIFTH best all-time winning percentage in NCAA history. Only four current A-10 teams are ranked higher.

I well remember those days also, and the last NCAA team went into the Eastern Eight Tournament with a losing record, and Slick and Maser took over and we won it all, with one of our best ever players.
The kids on this squad coming back have a chance to earn PT, but most likely about 20 min tops based on reports from Zips followers, plus the yet to be determined new comers will have some great effect on the success . I don't think anyone returning should feel comfortable with their position on this 17-18 team at this time.
