Off-season Big News Wrapping Up

I wanted to recap and see if there are any more large news pieces yet to be addressed this offseason.

Head Coach: University steps up financial and resource commitment to attract probably the best guy we could have got given our last 40 years of history and his personal connection to the school. Really excited about this piece.

Current Roster Turnover: Seems like we are at the point now where this has settled down. All incoming recruits went elsewhere beside Djonkam, while disappointing I have faith in Dambrot to bring talent in now and during the coming years. As far as current roster, Mike, Mike, and Sanders requested releases. Sanders left (no sweat off my back), Isiaha left (this one hurt) who could have been a leader and all timer alongside Lewis II, and Lewis II stayed. That is the most important piece because not only was he arguably the most talented player on last years team, I think almost all of us agree he is the most important player from last years team going forward. Partially because of talent but also because of leadership and buy in to Dambrots vision.

Renovations: they will be happening, but not until after next season. This is last on Dambrots list of things to care about, and he will be busting his ass to build up the program in all other aspects and the renovations will come which will only help him in the long run. He'll have one season in current Palumbo, one transient season, and then 5 in a brand new house built for him. Gotta feel good about the future regarding our home arena.

Apparel: there was a big sell off of all of DU athletic department current adidas apparel. I have never seen anything like that. We could either be moving to Nike (I hope) or getting all new adidas apparel. Nothing to suggest we are leaning in either direction at this point.

I can't think of anything else news wise to be addressed at this time. I would think now our focus, attention, and posts will be directed towards the recruiting section of the forum. Did I miss anything?

Re: Off-season Big News Wrapping Up

Nice recap...now, for those of us who live around here or not too far away, tickets need to be bought!  If folks can't afford season tickets then buy a few for some individual games.  I am excited because for the first time in a while, we will be able to focus on players - strengths - development - schemes - and not complain about the ability of a coach.  That doesn't mean that we can't make a comment about what "we" may have done in a situation because that is what fans do!!!  But I think we can all agree with the fact that we now have a QUALITY coach who will get it done!  PTL

As far as apparel is concerned, my friends on various athletics teams have been telling me we are moving to Nike for the past year or so.

Re: Off-season Big News Wrapping Up

Here's something to think about for next season. How would you rank the A-10 heading into the 2017-18 season? Where would Duquesne end up?
