Re: Game Thread: @ Fordham

Any idea what the coach from Fordham said to Coach D. In the handshake line at the end of the game?  He didn’t look real happy.

Yeah that was extremely odd. He looks kind of crazy. Apparently he and KD know each other from previous stops in their careers.

Was at the game tonight - a really enjoyable game to watch and a great win. Quite a bit of Dukes gear in the stands as well.

Go Dukes!

great to hear what its like from enemy territory 31. hopefully that is more indicative of what's to come in the immediate future and what the crowd will be like next saturday. that's when the students will be back and i hope the rbc has them sufficiently fired up and hopping about this dukes team

Re: Game Thread: @ Fordham

Was able to watch this one on TV and glad I did.  There are no easy road games in the A-10, but DU made this one look like it.  We're so much better defensively and on the boards than recent years. Even our percentage from the charity stripe is much improved.  Dukes, keep up the great effort!

POLICE REPORT FROM THE BRONX
NYPD Has issued a report to be on the lookout for a tall male, top hat and cape, cane, and going by the name of "Duke".

Apparently the suspect did away with the entire Fordham Basketball Team, leaving their gym destroyed.

Duke is considered extremely dangerous contrary to past reports.

Citizens are encouraged to help look for him next Saturday in the uptown section of Pittsburgh at early afternoon where he may be striking again.

Fordham coaches post-game interview on Dambrot and the Dukes!   Most enlightening seeing he is an opponent's coach.

He might have been wondering why the end of our bench didn't get on the court until the one minute mark.

Gram, thanks. Well worth the watch. Neubauer was very much impressed with the Dukes and their progress under Dambrot, and it seemed a bit envious of the commitment that the University has provided basketball.

I have thought that one myself. That game was  essentially over at five minutes. Not saying empty the bench at five minutes, but it could have been done at three.  Never understood why coaches waited so long and risked getting starters hurt in a game that was over.

I have a personal calculus as to when to empty the bench:  You take the number of possession lead you have (i.e. yesterday as 24 so that would be 8 possessions) and multiply by 20 seconds. So this game would have been 160 seconds!  Round that off and you could have taken the starters out at the three minute mark.

Re: Game Thread: @ Fordham

It's the injury factor that most worries me. I remember when Pitt did it to us and Woodall got hurt and missed some games.

Re: Game Thread: @ Fordham

I think the play when Brown set a pick top of key and leaned into Fordham leading scorer who already had a bad leg fell to court. He came out and the quickly came back in but spent rest of game on the pine.

That kind of put the brakes on the offense since we were holding the point guard scoreless. Plus I don’t see Keith letting up at end and giving up 7 or 8 points to a team they were crushing.

Watched the game again on DVR, Chartouny has his jersey over his mouth during the handshake line and seems to have said something to coach Dambrot that wasn't really well received from Dambrot.
