Williams having his worst game in a long time. Can't get anything going

Ouch. Got beat by one player tonight.

I'm trying to remain calm after that loss, but after URI and this one, my poor heart hurts. WHY could we not win the game when the fans showed up? WHY?
I HATE SPORTS.

We have been getting hurt by guys having CAREER games. Adams could have shot the ball blindfolded tonight.
Unfortunately, EW had a rare bad game, and as usual, the opponent shadowed Lewis the whole game.

Good crowd tonight. Adams was just unstoppable.

Williams Jr didn’t shoot well but he will be fine. Had 4 assists today. Couldn’t stop Adams.. Williams Jr didn’t do so bad on mobeley ya think?

Why did TD only play 13 minutes with only 1 foul?

Someday over the rainbow Dukes will win
When it matters and crowd chimes in.....

A bitter pill. ......Free throws.........
A kid from St. Bonnny who will make some money as a pro.
I will not attempt analysis as most of you are much better at that than I am( no sarcasm at all)
That being said what a crowd and atmosphere and great hoops.
Our guys left everything on the court. And then some.
This program is a player. This program is relevant.
Peaks and valleys but man are there some PEAKS up ahead.

Big thanks to all the fans who packed the Palumbo today. Definitely the loudest I've heard it during my tenure as PA Announcer!

The ref with the dark hair determined this game... that T among other calls was BS.
He got too emotionally charged by the game... breathing heavy and mopping his face even though he was the youngest ref out there.
Great game to be decided by the zebra... even the other refs were looking at him sideways.

My thoughts are he gives no offense and the front line of Bona are 6-6 and 6-5, KT had 7 points, a block, 2 assists and a rebound in 20 min.

True. Just thought we needed a rim protector late in game.

OH well, two last minute 3 point shot losses to teams much better than us! That happens! Let's go back to October and a time traveler told you that the Dukes would lose on last second three point shots to Rhode Island (on their court no less) and St. Bonneventure and you would be doing back flips!
I thought the high point was the national announcers giving major respect to Ray Goss and even letting about two minutes of his calls going out over the air!

Kudos, and Ray sounds just a good as he did back in 1968. I am proud to have him as a friend, truly the “Voice of the Dukes”

And Chas Brown misplayed the "Hedge" and slipped and fell down - Now there is something that doesn't happen often .
Oye Vey !!!!!!!!!

Ghost, Brown really did misplay the hedge on the last play, I just watched it on the DU website. You can't let a guy open who torches you for 40! Good grief he had almost 50% of their points. I new he was really good, but tonight he was simply on fire. Oh well, we were underdogs, but I am not liking a pattern of what I am seeing defensively. Here are the points scored against us starting with VCU game:78,94,76,89,77,61,73 and 84. Now I know there are 3 OT's in there, both other than RI game it seems we are slipping a bit defensively - at least to the eye test. Am I seeing this wrong?

Not to be negative, but I thought that KD made a mistake in not trying to trap Adams to force the ball out of his hands on the last shot. As hot as he was there was no way he was not going to take that shot. After the Bonnies final time out I think he should have put Verhoeven in to help defend. Oh well hindsight is 20/20, and as some of you are thinking, what the heck do I know.
Also, not to be negative, there were a lot of positives. Smith and Castro both played a heck of a game. I believe Smith has another year of eligibility. Given the leap he has made this year, can't imagine how good he will be next year under KD. Also, Taylor is getting better and better each game. He hit a big three last night.

The competition has been better. VCU, Bona, URI, and St. Louis are better than what we had been playing before.

Remember that coach KD talked about the A-10 being a 4 guard league when he was first hired. R.I and Bona are exactly that even though some of their players are listed as forwards. We have Weathers at 6'5" plus, Randall at 6'4", Hughes at 6'2" or 6'3" and Wade at 6'2" and Martin-Dunn on the roster next year. With losing only Castro and James and with what is returning from the current roster (Smith, Lewis II, Taylor) plus our transfers being eligible our team will be able to match up much better against those kind of 4 guard line-ups thrown at us. Plain and simple; we just don't have the manpower to beat these better teams despite all the glorious efforts of the current player roster and the coaching acumen of KD. Good times are a'comin. I'd rather we had beaten Bona, but my spirit isn't broken. Indeed, good times are a'comin.

As someone who lives 350+ miles from Pittsburgh and won't be able to visit for any games this year, I've really enjoyed being able to watch the Dukes on NBCSports the last four Saturdays. Two wins, two losses, but four really exciting, fun-to-watch games, more than I ever would have expected for this year. I have no doubt the Dukes will someday be able to win the close games against the better teams, but they'll need better players, a deeper, more complete team. Still plenty of chances to get more wins this year though and a few more TV games on the more obscure channels of the A10's TV package. No more NBCSports until the conference tourney.

CLK, Dambrot pretty much agreed with you during his post game comments regarding doubling Adams; I.e. Brown staying put. He laid that one on himself. Dambrot’s postgame comments are always well worth watching.
I think that Chas getting beat on the roll for a layup a couple of possessions previously to make it 77-74 played a role in his quickly bailing out from Adams.
Tydus, as a freshman, is still figuring things out; lacking consistency and perhaps still thinking too much vs instinctively reacting. I don’t know if the coaches have confidence in TV yet in those crunch situations.

Those of us watching from a distance on the NBC feed, did you notice the sound quality when they tapped into the Ray Goss play by play?
It was very good,
But when I listen via the IHeart feed - the sound quality is equal to transmissions on a short wave walkie talkie. Garbage.
Anybody have insights?
I am a huge fan of Ray Goss play by play, but the IHeart feed does him no justice.

The 3 point shot has changed the way the game is played. The classic 1-2-3-4-5 lineup is no longer the dominant form anymore. Villanova always has 3 to 4 guards on the floor. The era of the "aircraft carrier" is over. You need one capable inside player on the floor. the rest are shooters, who can also slash to the hoop. We should have this next year.
Yeah Grammy, these losses aren't really crushing because unless we collapse, we're pretty much locked into the CBI. Of course we want to win every game, but these losses would be much tougher to take if we were a bubble type team. What we want to do is win as many as we can, get some wins in DC, and then, make a deep run in the CBI, maybe even winning it.
