Welcome to SHOO-SHOO, RAH-RAH! The Duquesne Dukes Basketball Fan Message Board!
One of America's Great Message Boards - Any Inappropriate Posts Will Be Deleted!
Offline It is time again to get on the record predicting the total number of wins (not counting post season). The winner will receive a two night stay in beautiful downtown McKeesport, Pa (meals, transportation, and accomodations not included). All entries must be received by November 9th. Offline I'll one up you - 23. Offline 21-10 Offline Deuce Deuce. Best DU team in years. Offline While totally in agreement on the optimism, because of all the new players I am at 19-12. KD will get number 20 and maybe 21 post season. But I hope previous posters are right!!! Offline 19 WINS Offline I guess I'll go with an even 20. Offline 18-13 Offline 21 with a slow start, strong conference finish, A-10 Tournament win, & 2 CBI wins Offline 20 wins Offline I'm going 21. Offline 9-4 OOC Offline I have never seen any of the new guys play and jumping from high school to Division 1 is taking a huge step. Offline I love the optimism and enthusiasm surrounding this upcoming season. But I believe everyone is being a bit unrealistic. This years out of conference schedule is a lot more difficult than last year. Remember we did lose to Pitt (last in the ACC), RMU ( sixth in the NEC) and Cornell (fourth in the Ivy) out of conference last year. I also must state we did not improve as the year went on, evidence of the losing the last ten of twelve games. Also, we played five teams two times prior to or during that dreadful stretch, Richmond, GW, Dayton, Fordham and St Louis. Each team except St. Louis played us way unbelievably better the second time around. I understand that we have the transfers and incoming freshman, but as Stew has stated, these guys may take some time to adjust. Plus I don't think any of these transfers were rated higher than Smith and Castro coming in. I would not even venture a guess to the win total, all I would like to see is the Dukes improving as the year goes on. Offline I love the optimism and enthusiasm surrounding this upcoming season. I would not even venture a guess to the win total, all I would like to see is the Dukes improving as the year goes on. That is completely fair and likely more realistic than my prediction. However, while my guess for the last three years have been "who knows?" this year I feel like we should have a chance in most every game. I'll be happy with anything from 18 wins and above with a continued hope for the future. That being said, this is the first time I've allowed myself to dream in the last 5+ years, so I'm gonna go with it Offline I just want to make sure that in case I do win, I don't have to go to McKeesport Offline So, Stew & Wildwood, what are your predictions? Don't want you to miss out on the fabulous prize Offline 24 wins. Ill be the first to say it. 27 next year. Offline I'm throwing in 21-11 with a stronger finish than last year. Offline 19-12 Offline I will say 15, with the hopes that I am way off and look like a fool, which I would not mind one bit. I truly believe the A10 is better this season and the out of conference schedule could not be any easier than last years. Let's have some fun this season Offline 17 and 14. Offline 25-6. Offline So here is those that are on the record so far: Offline Give me 23 wins.
Get On The Record 2018 - 2019
My prediction is that the Dukes will win 22 games. 11 non conference and 11 conference games

Shaking the rust off the transfers, developing team chemistry and learning how to win at this level. Its all pretty
new for most of these guys. One word that I think about when watching this team is patience.

Re: Get On The Record 2018 - 2019
9-4 OOC
10-8 A10
14 wins and top 3 in A10 next year.
It's unfortunate that the OOC schedule has most of the difficult games early.
