Is 40 turnovers possible? Thats possibly the worst half of ball ever. This is hard to watch tonight. Everyone is out of control. The youth is really showing tonight. I am firmly convinced that Pitt could take 12 randomly selected high school seniors, put them in their uniforms, and beat us by double digits. Mike Hughes can hold his head high. Until the Dukes are consistently in the top four of the A 10, we don't have a prayer of beating them. Point guards: 2-18 I'd consider starting Dunn-Martin against Marshall at the point. I think Radford beat Texas tonight. We made more turnovers than Pillsbury tonight. Mostly unforced errors. Dambrot needs to fix this problem. What a dog turd. We're paying a million a year for this ? We'll be pretty good the next two years, but they're probably going to get back to where they were under Dixon, which is a whole different level from where we're going. Have to get it together for Marshal, or we might see a repeat of tonight. Dambrot has always depended on good players inside. The bigs are all projects. It likely won't be until late next season, or even 2 years from now that these guys will really become solid pieces of the rotation. Dayton always has guys like this. They look like scrubs their first couple of years, then, as juniors and seniors, they would just kill us. Hard to be patient after 46 years. I'd consider starting Dunn-Martin against Marshall at the point. I kind of agree. He wasn't great tonight, but at least he looks like he belongs on the floor. On a better note, our radford win is looking really good right now! Not sure I have much to add, except that our freshmen simply aren't good enough to give us quality minutes in games like this. We saw it in the Notre Dame game and we saw it tonight. That's not to say that they won't be able to someday, even before the end of this year, but they're just not there yet. Pitt's three freshmen--all top-250 recruits--combined for 31 points. Our six freshmen combined for 12. We could have really used Mike Lewis in this one--not to mention Weathers--but he spent more than half the game on the bench and was pretty ineffectual when he played. On the plus side, Mike Hughes was awesome, TDM plays his heart out on every possession and is a lot of fun to watch, and we played a pretty good defensive game. Pitt just got too many easy transition buckets from all the turnovers. But hey, Radford knocked off Texas tonight, so our RPI can only go up. ;-) Marshall 5 and 1 and beat Bill and Mary by 20 in the last game. Averaging 87 points per game. TDM will have nights were just goes off others where he is just off. KD will know how to use him. This year the Dukes will live and die by how fast Carry and Wade develop. I think both will be very good players but PG is the hardest position to break into as a Freshman. We need Williams and Lewis to get things sorted out or it will be a difficult season. I REALLY like both kids on and off the court. I hope they figure it out soon. This. We also need Frankie Hughes to give us better minutes in games like this.
