This might belong on the recruiting post as well.  Maceo Austin was sitting next to James Ellis at the game today.  Looked like they were both talking to players on the bench.  I saw Sincere come over at one point and talk to both.  Love the team chemistry that is forming and can't wait for next year.

Does anyone have an update on how Maceo is doing this season?

Re: Game Thread - George Washington Colonials (H)

Maceo averaged 22 ppg during the season.  They are starting the playoff this week I believe.  Here is resume to date:
TEAM RECORD: 92-11
REGION RECORD: 25-0
PLAYOFF RECORD: 20-0
POINTS-1713 (2nd in school)
3x PIAA State Champion
3x D10 Champion
3x Region Champion
2x 1st Team All-State
1x PA Player of the Year

He had offers from numerous High Majors including Virginia.  To say KD score a steal is an understatement.

Only 2 turnovers at half.    Amazing!
What team cools off first?
We’ve abandoned the post game so our shooters need to stay hot.

Well that’s not what was happening.  When GW played man they doubled the post from the ball side  every time we dumped it in; allowing us to kick the ball back out for an open 3.  Once our shooters got positioned correctly we made them pay.  Against their zone Sincere and Eric were able to drive the gaps and either kick out to an open shooter or score; so GW had nothing that worked.  But against the man defense the Post Play was not abandoned at all.  It just set up open looks for our shooters.

Thank you for taking the time to post this info.

Maceo should really provide offensive punch, size, length, & athleticism in the backcourt. Awesome bit of local recruiting. If he can shoot at least 37 or 38% from 3 he is the perfect recruit.

He has an interesting list of offers & visits.
-Do the offers from UVA & offer/visit to Northwestern mean he is a great student as well?
-Where is the rest of the Big East, AAC, & Conference USA?
-Why the Top 5 UVA program but no bottom dwellers from SEC or ACC?

What are you talking about no ACC bottom dwellers recruiting him? Pitt offered him!

In all seriousness though, it's been quite some time since the Dukes signed a recruit this highly regarded. Two schools that offered him have been to the Final Four and four more to the Elite Eight in the last ten years. If he wanted to stay close to home, all three local Power Five programs offered him. If he wanted a high quality education, two of the top 25 US News universities offered him. If he wanted a Catholic university, two of the six recent Elite Eight programs are. Coach deserves major kudos for bringing him in, and I can't wait to see him in a Dukes jersey. The on court improvements have been sensational in a short time under Dambrot, but the off court improvements have been great too, possibly even more impressive.
