I found this on twitter, a fantastic report made by two managers from SLU (@MGAnalytics1818). It goes in depth on each teams offensive and defensive sets. For those of you who like advanced stats and different styles of play, this is perfect. After a breakdown of key players, rundowns on the offense and defense metrically and descriptively, etc, the two managers have fantastically provided video breakdowns of each team on offense and defense as well. Of course they didn't give any info or even cover their own Billiken squad due to knowing too much inside info, lol. It was very generous of them to put so much effort in and release it for everybody to see! Check it out! That is an impressive scouting report. It tells us exactly what we've known all season long. When we work the ball inside, we win. When we rely on 3s or try to beat everyone off the dribble we struggle.

I hadn't noticed how effective we are on pick and rolls, probably because we don't run them very often. Then when I watched the video I remembered a lot of the plays and realized how accurate the report was. Seems like we should run some more pick and rolls. We've got able and willing screeners, a great point guard who knows how to use them, and bigs who can score off the roll.
I also was surprised to see we are 2nd in the conference in assist rate. Sin is a great point and Hughes and Weathers are really good passing out of the post. There have been many games though when the offense seems to bog down, the off ball movement stops, and we try to beat teams off the dribble. I knew we were at our best when the ball movement was good, but I guess I focused on the bad rather than recognizing just how good we are at the good.
I'm also curious about the .6% of possessions where we've played zone. They are so rare it is nothing more than curiosity. I can't help but wonder if there was a pattern to when they came, and how effective we were in the zone.
Very cool of the managers to make the report available to the public. Thank you for sharing it, however you came upon it. 1 of 1
