Offline Target date to resume is May 11. Unknown completion date at this time. Lost 7 weeks. Offline Appreciate your're passing that along. Let's hope they can make up for the lost 7 weeks... Offline The tone of that email did not sound optimistic about on time completion: Offline I'll be happy if it's done by the end of the year. It's not like we can be sure that the season will start on time anyway. Could see a reduced schedule. Offline Any update if we got the go ahead to proceed?? Offline If it opens during the season, the game should be with La Salle.. Offline If it opens during the season, the game should be with La Salle.. Nah, Bona's a bigger rival than LaSalle. Online! It should be as soon as it's ready whoever we play!!! hahaha

Dear Duquesne Athletic Donors and Supporters:
We hope this e-mail continues to find everyone doing well. Per our promise to update you with any major information, we wanted to share some promising news regarding the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse project.
We are planning to resume work as early as May 11, with exact timing and conditions dictated by state and city guidelines.
Our contractor, PJ Dick, has developed a COVID-19 Supplemental Safety Plan which is based on information available from both the CDC and OSHA. It will be used as a guideline for COVID-19 workplace precautions to help protect the safety and welfare of the individuals working on the project. PJ Dick is an industry leader in construction and worker safety and while conditions for resuming a project during this pandemic are challenging, they are well equipped to implement these measures to resume work on the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse project.
At this time, the timeline for completion remains uncertain. If work resumes on May 11, the project will have been shut down for seven weeks. Factors including the labor force, supply chain and additional precautions will require us to re-examine the work completion timeline continuously. We will learn more in the weeks ahead. It is important to note that planning is fluid and subject to adjustment should pandemic conditions dictate any future shutdowns.
In addition, outside factors such as state and local guidelines, permit approval processes, inspections, and other steps in construction that are also integral to determining a final target date must be taken into consideration. We will continue to provide you updates as information becomes available.
We continue to wish you health and well-being in the weeks ahead. It has been truly amazing to see how our Duquesne “family” has embraced the challenges put forth by this pandemic. Duquesne Athletics will continue to have a mindset of servant leadership and work diligently to do our very best for you.
Again, best wishes to you and we look forward to reconnecting in person in the future.
Dave Harper
Director of Athletics
