Kings of the Bluff:Duquesne U. 1955 National Championship season

Highly recommended during these times. David Finoli brought the reader back to a time when the Dukes were indeed top dogs. Kindle or Amazon app download 9.99 Mr. Finoli’s detailed analysis as to why the program declined has been discussed thousands of times on this board. Finoli’s closing comments Maybe the new President, Ken Gormley & new Athletic Director, Dave Harper will excite the donors & alumni to support the program.Maybe Jim Ferry will do at Duquesne what he did at LIU.”Being patient. That’s what Duquesne fans have gotten pretty good at.” Well, Mr. Finoli Dave Harper immediately  took care of business by hiring Coach Dambrot. The Dukes are slowing climbing back to national attention. Time to do another book. How about rise from the ashes.  Seriously, as a long suffering Duquesne fan this book is a must read. 9.99 download or 17.99 paperback. Go Dukes.

Re: Kings of the Bluff:Duquesne U. 1955 National Championship season

Definitely intriguing I'm thinking about getting the paperback. 258 pages is definitely a lot of information and worth it!! Here's the caption for the book on Amazon:

"Sihugo Green, Dick Ricketts, Dave Ricketts, Mickey Winograd, Lou Severine, Jim Fallon, Lou Iezzi, Paul Lojpersberger, Ralph Leng, John Nosworthy, Tom Peszko, Bob Schneider, Dudey Moore and Red Manning. They are all connected, in perpetuity, as a special group of men who not only captured the lone major national title in Duquesne University history, but to date the only Division I college basketball national championship the city of Pittsburgh has ever produced in a tournament. No other team has ever had the honor of raising a national championship trophy. This book captures all of the excitement of that memorable season by taking a look at how the team was built, a game-by-game synopsis of the campaign, an in depth look at the NIT, detailed biographies of each player and coach and a chapter telling the story of the program after the long awaited national championship was won."

Actually just cancelled my order and replaced it with "the next chapter edition" which I believe is the one that you are referencing mentioning the new coaching staff. This one says its delivering in 2-3 days!

You just know that when the Dukes finally make the Big Dance, there will be an ESPN 30 for 30!  Too many great stories to pass up
