The last 2 teams have been as tough or tougher than any Dukes team of the last 25 years. (In my opinion, the Alston NIT squad had a bit more purposeful grit. That is why I didn't go with the last 30 years.)

I appreciate that about these players & this coach. However, for me, tough & smart is the ideal combination for winning teams The current iteration of the Dukes are lacking in one of those areas so as to limit their chances at greater success.

My sense is that KD is treading lightly here. Probably doesn't want to push things with Maceo until he feels Maceo is really ready to get back in the fray. Sure he doesn't want to lose him and probably really feels a sense of responsibility to him and all of his players. I think coach is going with whatever gut feeling he has about it all and waiting for Maceo to let him know that he is ready to return. Just my guess. Think it best to stay the course for now.
