Re: Mens Basketball Prospectus

CLK thanks for your updates. Obviously, as always Duquesne PR machine is in full gear🤪What effort in giving the Duquesne fan base interviews of the players, backgrounds & reasons for choosing Duquesne. With the players ability to transfer out of a program the team roster will no doubt change by at least 50 to 60 % annually. Memo to AD have a student from the communications department with his/her iPhone 12 briefly interview the new players for a grade. If you ever follow the A10 news website Chicago Loyola had blitzed the site with articles upon joining the A10. Duquesne crickets. This is not on the AD but his staff which continues to perfect mediocrity. This update from Duquesne exhibited  zero effort.

I agree, Duquesne could do so much more to enhance the fan experience and interest with little or no added cost, but they just do not care.

Re: Mens Basketball Prospectus

Same story every year. The current long time Associate Athletic Director for Media does not understand that promoting your product everyday is a necessity. I understand he is responsible for men’s basketball news personally, so we get this same dry prospectus every year. There should be tweets, e-mail blasts, videos, etc.  on a regular basis. Our new Chicago brethren get it because they are in a competitive market. Our media department throws up a couple of stories a day on the official website and are satisfied. L-A-Z-Y! Posting a tweet takes less than a couple of minutes! Real media promoters like Rothstein post multiple tweets, Instagram messages, etc. MULTIPLE times a day. Might mean our Media Department would have to go to coaches, players and talk to them rather than sit in the office and have info funneled to them.

The AD should be appalled at how little attention is paid to the fan base. No wonder people don’t go to games - the team is a non-entity because there is so little information about them. I am tired of going to the Pittsburgh Sports Now site and seeing 20 Tweets a day about the school up the street - who they are offering, what their players are doing in the community, videos and commentaries.  I have to wonder if our Media Department even knows who to contact at PSN other than Zachary. L-A-Z-Y!

I guess it is too much to ask that your fan base be catered to just by keeping them informed and up to date. I will look forward to my next e-mail from Media Relations, which will be a request to renew my season tickets! Predictable and L-A-Z-Y!

Re: Mens Basketball Prospectus

AT least you hear from media relations!  Last year, after being a season ticket holder for four years I never received one contact, not one!

Re: Mens Basketball Prospectus

In fairness, they do post to Instagram and Twitter with video pretty often.  The new locker room posts for men and women were good.  I would agree that short player interviews linked to Twitter would be a good idea, considering the turnover in rosters that seems to be here to stay.  I've been enjoying following the Men's soccer team on Instagram.  They are off to a 3-0 start with an opening win at Michigan!  They deserve some attention.

Dave Saba right? Another person who has been with the department for decades and done nothing of value!
