I believe in KD too. Great Zeise article about Coach. Last edited by coffee (2/12/2023 1:59 am) I believe that most negative posts that show up on this board reflect frustration with a program that has suffered immeasurably over the past almost 50 years. I know that I've been guilty of this at times. After last season's debacle, I recall posting that this season would be the most important one for KD and staff of the 6 years they have been here. And let's keep in mind that KD has only been here for 6 of the past 50. I also recall saying that nothing less than a winning season would be acceptable for me. Well, it does appear that this will be a winning season and barring a complete collapse will be at least a 20 win campaign. The turnaround this season is nothing less than miraculous IMO. I know that there will always be criticisms directed at KD because that's what shows up on every sports chat board that I've ever seen. No coach is immune from it. It's human nature to disagree with something that a head coach says or does.I do this as most do. I want to publicly thank the coaching staff for the supreme effort made to get the program headed in the right direction this season. It's really lots of fun to be a Dukes fan once again. And let me just add that next season will be the most important one of KD's tenure here!! GO DUKES! Well said and let me add that I have disliked or disagreed with some of the coaching decisions or moves that have been part of the Dambrot era. However like you said this is a message board and people are free to express their opinions. Overall I am very happy to have Dambrot as our coach! I’m sure that Harper and Gromley have a plan for the future and I will be thrilled to have coach D be a part of it ! Like any successful head coach in any sport besides getting talented players also important to build a solid assistant coaches staff. I get a feeling Dru Joyce has been a great addition. Kudos for Coach Dambrot in hiring Joyce & deferring to him setting the Dukes defensive schemes. I remember Chuck Noll & Johnny Majors coaching staffs. Second to none. Mike Tomlin not so. If I had a criticism of Dambrot it was my sense he at times ran every single aspect of the program.Loved his opening at the post game press conference complimenting Coach Joyce. At times he takes out a guy on a heater, which leaves me scratching my head. But now, down the stretch, having fresher legs might actually make a differnce, we dont rely on guys like StB that play 36, 38, 40 minutes a game. Hopefully it means something going forward.
