Michael Hughes and Mike Lewis II Teammates in Lithuania

Came across something cool when I realized both Hughes and Lewis play for the same in team in Lithuania!

Roster:
Jonavos CBet žaidėjai - CBet Jonava (bcjonava.lt)

Through 8 games Mike Lewis is averaging 13.6 ppg while Hughes is averaging 11. It makes me happy to see two former Duquesne teammates playing professionally together!

That's awesome! Two of my favorite Duquesne players in recent memory.

Eric Williams is playing in Poland averaging 16/8/5.

I think he has only played 6 games so far this season but one was a triple double.

He was recently playing in Syria. Nice to see him move to Poland.

I know Sin got drafted & waived in the G-league. Then he was in Greece. Now I can't seem to find him.

That is strange. He dropped 21 in his first pro game in Greece January 13th. Having a hard time finding box scores for his team Iraklis BC. You're right that I see no mention of him the past couple weeks and no sign of him in photos.

Baylee Steele plays for Gifu in the third division of Japan's pro league. On January 27th he recorded 26 points and 17 rebounds in a loss. RJ Gunn made is pro debut very recently as well. When it comes to former Dambrot players making money, I bet Chad Baker is getting some big bucks from Auburn too.

Sin is still in Greece but has not been playing due to an ankle injury. His team is playing live now, it's the second quarter currently. Word is Carry will only come in if needed in the second half because of the ankle.

Always good to see former Dukes pursuing.their basketball careers at the next level. We have quite a few of them!

Re: Michael Hughes and Mike Lewis II Teammates in Lithuania

Frankie Hughes, Craig Randall, Rotroff, & Lamar Norman also belong on this list. It also looks like that at least  Amari Kelly, Dae Dae, & Jimmy will soon join them. If you take away years 1 & 7, that is 12 or 13 active pro players. That is impressive.

Others to watch for possible pro opportunities:
-Acuff
-Okani
-F. Drame
-Mahorcic
-Savrasov
-Primo
-Chad Baker

When I start adding up the list of players who are getting the chance to continue playing & getting paid to do so, I feel very happy for them. Then I hope all or the vast majority of them also got out of their respective colleges with degrees.

Finally, I get salty because I know that so many pro-level players from the same program over 5 years should have resulted in much greater success. There are thousands more jobs playing professional basketball today than there were 30 years ago but, catching on for 3-5 years somewhere is still a major accomplishment given the fact that there are also so many more countries producing serious prospects these days.

Re: Michael Hughes and Mike Lewis II Teammates in Lithuania

Craig Randall is a big what if. I always heard he was a headcase. But the dude was 2022 G-league most improved player, put up back to back 40 point games, had another game with 48 in the G-league, etc.

After 2022 he played in the australian NBL but from wikipedia: Randall was frequently seen arguing with head coach CJ Bruton and his teammates during games which created chemistry issues. He was released by the 36ers on November 8, 2022, with the team stating that it was by "mutual consent".  At the time of his release, Randall was the 36ers' leading scorer and fourth in the entire NBL with 20.3 points per game.

This guy has blacklisted himself from making the NBA because of his attitide. He was at one point the best player in the G-league and didn't get a shot. In a scrimmage against the Phoenix Suns with his NBL team he dropped 35 in a win. Now he's in france.

I cannot seem to find the article but that first year the redshirts would beat the starters consistently in practice. Everybody who redshirted that season is a true pro. Randall, Dunn-Martin, Hughes, Weathers.

Really sad to hear that the young man is still having troubles. Four big words. What could have been!
