Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

So far this season,
Davidson beat Maryland Big Ten
St. Bonnie’s beat Okla St Big 12
Dayton beat LSU SEC.
All on a neutral court.
Nice start to the season for the A-10 !!!

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

St lou over wyoming today too.  Not as impressive as beating a P6 but still good.  We need these next 2 to keep pace and to grow the brand.

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

Yep I just saw the Bonnies game and Schmidt does his usual quality coaching job.  Hopefully Dukes can put a string of wins together!!

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

This makes last night’s loss that much more depressing.

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

St Louis lost to Vermont by about 10. Dayton up on St. Johns with about 4 minutes left.

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

Unfortunately the Charleston win is already quickly losing it's value. They are now 1-3 with losses to Vermont and Wyoming. They are currently down to 177 in KenPom. Not great for us.

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

Yesterday started out promising for the A10 highlighted by Dayton’s win over St. John’s. But went quickly into the crapper with St.Joes losing to Texas A&M Commerce, Davidson losing to East Tennessee St, UMass losing to Harvard and the Bonnies getting blown out by Auburn.  Dukes had the only conference win last evening.

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

Yes, it fell apart quickly with StLouis getting beaten by Wichita St as well.  Dayton made a good run to the final before losing to Houston who is a top 10 team.
A Duquesne win at Nebraska would restore prestige for the Dukes and the A-10., but they are off to a fast start.  They did only beat Rider by something like 13 or 14.

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

The season is too early to pick what is or isn't a good or bad win. For DU. Just beat everyone.  That Princeton lose was a fluke. The right call by the refs at the 8 second mark and we would have won. That won't keep happening all this season. Go Dukes.

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

St. Joes took Kentucky to overtime and Mason is extremely strong so far this year.

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

St Joey hung tough with Kentucky last night, took them to OT.   No one will notice or care.

Whats up with Fordham, I thought they were set up to be really good this year, already 3 losses and all to lesser opponents, Cornell, Abilene Christian, Kent.   Did their guys from last year transfer out?

Re: Could the A-10 be back to multiple bids?

Initial A10 MBB NET Rankings of the season; good to see 7 Top 100 teams:
#42 Dayton
#62 George Mason
#79 Saint Joseph’s
#85 Richmond
#86 George Washington
#91 Duquesne
#94 UMass
#121 Davidson
#125 Loyola Chicago
#127 St. Bonaventure
#138 VCU
#181 La Salle
#186 Fordham
#192 Rhode Island
#258 Saint Louis

Also, good to see in Ken Pom that the A10 conference is ranked 8th (ahead of the AAC, MVC and WCC).
1 Big 12 Conference +17.36
2 Big East Conference +15.03
3 Big Ten Conference +14.65
4 Southeastern Conference +14.44
5 Pac 12 Conference +12.42
6 Atlantic Coast Conference +10.93
7 Mountain West Conference +8.19
8 Atlantic 10 Conference +4.19
9 American Athletic Conference +3.36
10 Missouri Valley Conference +2.81
11 West Coast Conference +2.64
I read somewhere that conferences that have a +4 or higher rating have historically received multiple bids.  Hope that is true and that the A10 can keep this up for the next 4 weeks or so.

The A-10 needs multiple bids. It increases our exposure.
