Perhaps it's me being too familiar with Duquesne's past and only remembering the highs for Santa Clara. Maybe it's me seeing this as more of a road game than an actual neutral game. Whatever the case, I was pleasantly surprised to see us favored by as much as those projections are showing. The numbers pretty much all seem to favor Santa Clara, and they certainly haven't played an easy schedule. Having said that, they have lost 5 of their last 7 and are just 3-4 away from home. While I am very nervous about this game, I do think this Dukes team is very different from the recent past. I see another close game, I'll say Dukes 74 Santa Clara 72.

Hopefully Mahorcic is able to play and ready to go right off the bat. They basically alternate two 7 footers (although one has missed the last two games and is questionable). Of other interest, they have almost as many international players as us, with 5 players from 4 countries on 2 continents.

Disappointing.I am going to blame this on poor defense.

As I pointed out a few weeks back, we have two legitimate scoring threats. Dixon had a double digit game as did Savrasov then nothing. The last two games, 3 points from the Drame brothers. Santa Clara had 3 in double digits and a fourth with 8 points. We had 2 in double digits and a third with 6 points. I hope that Williams can be that third scorer.

ken, hoping that Williams is going to be that guy is grasping at straws. I'm having a tough time finding the stats but I'm surprised that the Drames did not perform better. Foul shooting was atrocious as well as overall shooting towards the end. I believe they said on the radio that Grant was 3 for 7  from the foul line

Looking through the box score, it was a really disappointing game for Jimmy Clark.  4 for 14 from the field; 3-9 from 3, 3-7 from the FT line and 5 turnovers.  The Dukes need a better performance than that from Jimmy.

It appears that our big guys got exposed, especially Tre Williams and Chabi.  Dixon was contributing, but fouled out in 9 minutes.  The good news is that Dusan will help immensely in these types of games in conference; shame he was limited to 5 minutes (2 points, 2 rebounds and plus/minus of +8.8).  

This was a bad loss (a Quad 3) as far as any at large consideration.  The NET dropped from 66 to 79.  The Dukes are now going to have to make this up in conference; now needing probably 12 wins to put them on the bubble.
