Everything you said right her. 100# Offline Duquesne is hosting and playing on the same day. That will be one stretched athletic department. Offline Hmm, Creighton is coming to Pittsburgh and Dukes are heading to Omaha. Offline Hmm, Creighton is coming to Pittsburgh and Dukes are heading to Omaha. Maybe Creighton staff wlll host here and DU staff host there. lol. Last edited by DuqBlue (3/17/2024 6:15 pm) Offline
Offline The 12 and 13 seeds are always a bit confusing to the selection committee, but an eleventh seed that doesn't have to win six games says you are one of the top 44 teams in the country. I'll take that anyday. Beat BYU and the Morehead State Illinois winner will be cake, We got this! Offline Guy on ESPN just said BYU is best shooting team in the country. That should get our defense fired up. Offline Guy on ESPN just said BYU is best shooting team in the country. That should get our defense fired up. Lol. Because they've faced a bunch of overrated not in your face defenses outside of Iowa State and Houston. The Dukes defense all day. This team lost to a lowly Oklahoma State by ten on the road not long ago giving up 93 points. We got this! Dukes don't give up 70. Offline Off the list. Offline Off the list. It's kind of crazy that VMI still carries the curse of 1977 and they beat us. Offline Off the list. Interesting. VMI hasn't been to the Tourney since 1977, also. Offline Off the list. It's kind of crazy that VMI still carries the curse of 1977 and they beat us. beat me to it. Offline I won’t believe we’re in until Phoenix posts the game thread. Offline Phoenix, take my energy! Offline Omaha, Omaha!!! Peyton Manning voice. Last edited by townsonkid (3/18/2024 5:47 am) Offline Those who live by the 3 will eventually die by the 3. It’s a tough matchup, but these Dukes are up for it. Khalifa is a really good player and it will be interesting to see who defends him. I think Necas has earned the opportunity and is actually a good matchup for him. Offline ESPN PICK and SCORE Offline So many feelings. Offline Think about this, Duquesne is the only team from Pennsylvania to make the NCAA Tournament this year. Go Dukes! Offline I couldn't sleep last night and watched some highlights from the Dukes. You have a great squad. Offline ESPN PICK and SCORE I can easily see the final score just the opposite. These Dukes seem to be getting better with each game. Offline Our defense is also pretty solid. Idk. Obviously I want to win but I’m still soaking in yesterday’s success. Offline Think about this, Duquesne is the only team from Pennsylvania to make the NCAA Tournament this year. Go Dukes! I declare us to be the PA State Champs. If anyone has a problem with that, schedule a game with us next year. Looking at you Pitt and PSU. Offline My student attendance at Dukes games goes back to my freshman year in 1959 when George Brown, Bob Slobodnick, Ned Twyman, Paul Benec, Billy Strom were the starters. While the overall record that year was not good, the 'big triumph' that year was losing to Cincinnati and Oscar Robertson by only 61 -58 at Pitt Field House. And then we lost two close ones to the Bonnies when they were nationally prominent with the Stith Brothers. The team played great basketball despite a very tough schedule that year, but ended with a losing record (7-13). However in 1961-62 with Willie Somerset, Clyde Arnold and Mike Rice… we upset #7 Duke, #6 Bradley, #9 St. Bonaventure, and lost to #3 Cincinnati – then after beating Navy and Bradley in the first two rounds of the NIT, lost to Loyola and St. Johns. Ended with a 22-7
NCAA: Seeded 11 vs. BYU, game in Omaha
Nothing is easy but I feel as though this is a winnable game.
God does it feel good to be on this side of selection Sunday for once.

Presume Creighton is the host school in Omaha.

I’m glad Ray got to call it.
I’m glad KD got to do it for his dad.
I’m glad Dave Mackall got to write the article, after years of covering the Dukes.
I hope Mossie’s spirit is looking down from somewhere, along with those of other fans we know who’ve been lost along the way. •Thread Starter

record!!
In those years we averaged between 3 and 5,000 attendance per game at the Pitt Fitzgerald Field House and sometimes more at the Civic Auditorium for the bigger games.
Nevertheless I continued to attend the games once I moved back to Pittsburgh, and still buy season tickets to this day.
Have met many of the players and am enthralled with the success we are currently enjoying (IN MY LIFETIME NO LESS!) Only wish we could get the students and more local fans to attend in the coming years. GO DUKES!
