Offline So players can sign with teams now, if they are already in the portal? And have until May 1 to enter the portal? I believe they can commit but not sure if signing is official yet? Last edited by Motor (4/02/2024 10:57 am) Offline So players can sign with teams now, if they are already in the portal? And have until May 1 to enter the portal? Just my own thoughts, but I think if any of the guys were going to transfer they'd have done it already. Offline Some of our guys in the past have waited for whatever reason(s). Maybe its to see what is out there after the initial dust settles. IDK. But until May 2, it wont be settled. Last edited by townsonkid (4/02/2024 9:28 am) Offline
Offline Nice, he had 21 and 11 against us. Offline

Offline I saw him play a couple of times in high school for the perenially loaded Wheeler HS. I did not know he was rated that high at the time. One of the games was a state final. His play was smooth & under control. He didn't dominate but was quite good. I recall him being quite long for a guard. Offline luckmcd thank you again for doing this, it looks great. The questions in my mind are how many scholarships do we have available, and what are our priorities? I know we have 7 players leaving by virtue of expired eligibility, 8 players returning including DiMichele, one signed commitment, and one verbal commitment. I have given up on trying to figure out Duquesne scholarship mathematics. If all players return my guess is between 3 to 5 scholarships. In terms of our priorities, there are three key players leaving that need to be replaced...Grant SG, Clark CG, F. Drame PF, and Mahorcic Aircraft Carrier C. Offline I still contend the greatest need is an experienced, good sized, sweet shooting, starting PG with at least 2 years of eligibility. (I am not sold on the idea that if Bronny comes, he checks this box.) Offline

Offline WOW really like this kid with his stats as a 6’6” guard Last edited by Motor (4/05/2024 11:01 am) Offline WOW really like this kid with his stats as a 6’6” guard I like this kid too Motor. From the limited video I have seen on him he reminds me of a young Dae Dae Grant. Offline Max Edward from GW has scheduled a visit for this week. Would love to see us get this guy. Offline New name Offline
Offline His Albany backcourt mate Sebastian Thomas, formerly of URI is also in the portal.Thomas led their conference in scoring as a PG, averaging 19.6 points, 4.9 assists & 1.9 steals. Last edited by phil95 (4/08/2024 6:49 pm) Offline
Offline I still find the number of players in the portal looking to transfer to their 3rd & 4th schools in as many years to be shocking. I guess I better just get used to it & hope that DU receives/keeps more good ones than it loses. Offline Player Height Wgt School Year Points Reb Assist Steals Blocks Top Offer Last edited by luckymcd (4/09/2024 8:29 pm) Offline Jahmir Brickus to visit VCU... the intra conference transferring is very interesting to me. Offline I was really hoping Brickus would become a Duke. I realize he is not very tall but he is awesome in the post, a known A-10 commodity, very experienced, & a fine PG.

Harper made me anxious with the brief mention of the recruiting yesterday, in a good way.
Just hope the core sticks at DUQ. Dixon, Necas, Rozier, DeMichele, Barre, Hronsky. Thats a core Joyce can add to and win next year.
Also loved Harper’s comment to Dru that “his job next 90 days is recruit, recruit, recruit”
Hope he finalizes his staff this week also!

Re: Verbal Commits Transfer Portal
It was a good sign at least some of them were at the presser yesterday. While he is the new HC, he isnt new to the players. So hopefully it allows for a smooth transition roster-wise.

IMHO, we need two prolific scoring ball handling guards who can give us points and assists, and two bigs who can rebound, pass, set screens and do the dirty work inside. The list above to me seems to reflect those needs. •Thread Starter
Re: Verbal Commits Transfer Portal
The kinds of players CLK listed are also true needs, but I think the specifics of those players will be driven, to a certain extent, by the style of offensive play DJ aspires to.
Will the offense be a positionless concept? Will their be enough shooting for some "five-out" lineups? Can most of the traditional post scoring be covered by Dixon, rim runs/cutbacks for Chabi, & mismatch exploitation generated by Hronsky & Necas?
I became very frustrated with KD's insistence on trying to be an inside out team featuring the type of skilled big strong guys that don't really seem to end up at A-10 schools. I would like to see this idea be retired & the new players reflect this change in thinking. More F. Drame & less Mahorcic.
I am super enthusiastic about the continuity & player growth that the team is likely to enjoy by virtue of so many players of skill & experience returning but, I also think that a minimum of 2 new players must be better than any returning player for this team to be relevant in March of 2025. Jimmy, Dae Dae, and to a lesser extent, Drame are huge losses in terms of talent, winning mentality, & experience that the current crew of sophomores & juniors will not be able to overcome on their own.
