Well let’s all put this to rest now. I wish him the best!

We can now concentrate on the fantastic group of guys we have coming in.
And as I believe CLK mentioned in another thread maybe DRU is NOT done recruiting yet?

Go Dukes

Absolutely wish Bronny the very best and I do hope that he is making the best decision for himself. As to whether or not he was ever coming here, I kind of doubted it and really think we may be better off without all the distraction. As it always does, time will tell!

James has until May 29 to decide to stay in the draft or not.  So this isn’t as over as has been stated.  Still, I agree with the above sentiments.  The problem is - he’s really good. Saw him on high school and he was a standout during the McDonalds game.  The young man had serious heart issues.  You take the year off, not show up and play UCLA. Good luck to Bronny and his dad, who showed much kindness to his lifelong friend and our team.

He is highly skilled, but the NBA is an 82 game, six month grind. He would be better off in college at 30 plus games and a lot of coaching  and developing in practice scrimmages rather then getting some minutes off the bench in a 6 month 82 plus NBA season. The NBA, has far less time for developing but instead a lot of time traveling. I wish him the best either way.

Re: Bronny James Medically Cleared to Play in NBA, Remains in NBA Draft.

This is a non story to me.  Until we hear that Bronny has decided not to return to college nothing has changed.  I can’t imagine any NBA team is interested in Bronny if it doesn’t mean Lebron will be playing there so I’m speculating that the Lakers and Lebron come to an agreement that includes drafting Bronny OR Bronny decides to stay in college. Bronny will know before the deadline absolutely if it is happening or not.  I’m surprised there are those on this board that do not think he will be a paradigm shifting player for the Dukes. Forget his numbers from last year, they are meaningless.  He is a McDonald’s All American!  He WILL make this team much better.  I think the lack of recruiting a true PG shows Bronny coming here is still on the table.  I like our team a lot with no Bronny, but I think they become the favorite to win the conference if he does come.

I just read that if drafted in the second round by any team, that he would likely spend a year in the G-league instead of being on an NBA roster. So that doesn't some that appealing.

Good luck to Bronny ,in a tough spot, wish him well. Happy with the team we have. Bryce is scheduled to visit Duquesne this summer so thats a real exciting prospect for the Dukes.
Thank you Lebron for all you have done for Duquesne, appreciate the Dukes getting attention.

So we were hoping to get a guy cause he was not cleared by the NBA?   I dont think this changes anything.   Same % he goes back to college and same % he comes to Duquesne.

And I like the roster Joyce has put together, like I said in another thread, we are set up for a real nice 2 year run with the current roster, and who knows what happens in the future.  Last year might have just be the tip of the iceberg.

Yes, last year was the tip of the iceberg. Dru came to DU two seasons ago, and both seasons were different from the 5 years before. Dru knows how to recruit from years of being someone that makes things happen. He knows basketball. I think he knows how to coach these kids better than most.   I can't wait to see him as a game day coach, especially with this team he has coming in.

Adding fuel to the fire.... A sober discussion on Bronny's  NBA vs College future...

I for one.... LOVE  the national attention that the Dukes are getting from all these speculations, by all these  national sports pundits. The fact that we as program, are in the conversation, about a national sports figure/story like Bronny/Lebron.....IS ABSOLUTELY HUGE !!!  I think the Dukes are in can't lose or a (Win-Win) situation, regardless of which way Bronny decides go ... In the meantime...I'll  just sit-back and enjoy the national attention and limelight that Duquesne will continue to receive for the next 2-3 weeks....
Gotta Love It.... if your a Dukes fan !!!

GO Dukes !!!
