It's a 60 mile ride for me one way, so I'm hoping for good weather too. Don't care how cold it gets, as long as it's dry.

This could turn out to be a huge win for the Dukes. If Soko, McKoy, Mason and Colter play as well Wednesday as they did tonight, we should have a good chance to beat NJIT.

 

Let's not go that far. Great shot and great win, and as I always say, that's the bottom line. But missed FTs, committed some silly fouls, made some bad shot selection, etc., which kept us from a more comfortable win. 

Glad to see more plays designed for McKoy. Why not? The guy has an amazing FG%.

Just like to point out something. How does this win feel? Better than the ones over those dogs in the winning streak? Do you think this victory over a team with an RPI under 100 is more meaningful than the 300-plus slugs we beat? It sure is. This type of win is more meaningful to the coaches and players than any two or three in that winning streak combined because it came against a decent team.

It's wins such as these that move a program forward, not the Pan Americas of the basketball world.

Prince, as you know, I am more than happy to eat crow. All I care about is winning. DC still needs to cut down on the bad turnovers (his numbers aren't high, but he seems to make hideous ones at crucial moments), he needs to improve on his ability to go to the rim, and of course it wouldn't hurt if he could hit some FTs, but the truth is that came up big in a clutch moment. With two Bonnies draped all over him. And I am very happy for him. He made the SC highlights but had to share #4 with a couple other buzzer beaters last night. 

Ritter, you're right about the value of beating a higher-rated opponent, but you really need to look at the non-con schedules of most A-10 teams, which include all of the teams we played. We're not the only team doing it. And Pitt's a Top 20 team, curse them, and WVU is no slouch. What really needs to happen is Duquesne blowing through that portion of the schedule with 10-11 wins, and crushing defeats of the lesser programs. That might be more realistic with Watkins and Mason being healthy all season and Robinson certified by the NC@@$holes some time before he's 65.

I'm not saying don't have two or three on your nonconference schedule. every team does. What I'm saying is that St. B is the type of  win that has meaning. If you think beating NJIT, which at one point had the longest losing streak in NCAA basketball, is going to impress anyone other than Dukes fans desperate for a win, you are mistaken. These tomato cans were put on the schedule simply to prop up our record.

There are dozens of 200-250 RPI teams I would rather watch than the garbage from that winning streak. And I bet the player would tell us that too.

Micah looked like Jimmy V after the shot. He was sprinting out to McCoy who sidestepped him and left Micah with noboby to hug. Watching Colter after missing the fts was painful. He took it hard.

The Dayton flyer pride message boards were in serious meltdown last night. Interesting to see a successful program (maybe not in NCAA appearances) but one that has great facilities and fan support going ballistic over their current situation. I'm not revealing in their misery but they are not a happy bunch.

There are quite a few boards in meltdown mode. They are not happy over at Hoya Saxa (Georgetown), and on Redmen Talk (St John's), Steve Lavin is public enemy #1. I havent been on the Carolina board recently, but I can't imagine that they're very happy about being 1-4 in the ACC.

Thank you CLK for posting the videos.  I turned the game off when DK missed his free throws.  No way we win that game.  That and too many years of disappointments.  Had to read about it in the LA Times this morning.  

What was very satisfying was sending the Bonnie fans on that long trip to Olean with a big fat L. They brought that stupid drum of course. One of our fans had to get a security guard to make them ease up on the profanities. Great night all around.
