NCAA tourn

Is that the firmer Dukes player Chad Baker still at Auburn?

WVU not in is tough to understand.  As much as UNC in is tough.

Byu, 6 seed vs A10 11 seed.  Sound familiar?

Yes, that's the same former Duke, and he has been mentioned as a candidate for the NCAA national player of the year!

Indy:  It is a Teammate (Broome) of Chad's that is a candidate for Player of the Year.  Chad still has his "knack for picking up technicals"  He got ejected in the Alabama game for a Flagrant Foul.

He’s a heck of a basketball player, but Chad still has many emotional issues especially for a 25 year old.

You are right.  That was a comment I heard one of the announcers make leading up to the Auburn-TN game.  But I think he was confusing it with the Julius Erving award for best small forward.

I'd love to see VCU make a deep run in the NCAAs, and with six A10 teams in the NIT, one of those to come out on top.

BYU seems overconfident again this year - some comments on their board about the inferior A10.

They should have learned their lesson from last year. VCU is really good, I think they beat BYU.

Re: NCAA tourn

I agree they should not overlook  the A-10 team again!  Duquesne came out strong hitting threes and disrupting their offense to get some easy baskets.  The Dukes did a great job of pushing out on their shooters and recovering quickly on defense.  Their big Egyptian in the middle was just too slow against Duquesne’s superior quickness.  I don’t think VCU has the same offensive capability as Duquesne had with Grant and Clark, but they can certainly bring the heat on defense and challenge their guards trying to start their offense.  A lot will depend on how they blow the whistles.  If they let VCU play their game, I like their chances, but they will need to shoot the ball better than they did yesterday against GMU. Max Shulga needs to hit those open  threes that he missed yesterday and some of their secondary scorers need to make shots.  One other factor may be that Ryan Odom spent a few years coaching Utah St. so he should be familiar with BYU.  I think BYU will be better prepared for the more physical eastern basketball this time around, so VCU will need to be able to score some points to win this one.

Regarding UNC vs WVU --  Despite ALL the protesting that the AD from UNC who is on the Committee "left the room for any discussion involving them"  A legislator from WVU is considering a lawsuit..  There is a posting making the rounds of the Internet that the UNC AD gets a $124,000 Bonus if they make the tournament..  They even posted a link to that clause.

NOT that I care for WVU -  still haven't forgiven them for the Huggins-BB Flenory incident

Despite what Dickie V says --  if the name North Carolina wasn't on the FRONT of the uniform..  NO WAY do they make it...  1-12 vs the top quad????

Re: NCAA tourn

They used the injury to DeVries, the coaches son as an excuse to keep WVU out of the field in favor of an undeserving UNC team. It’s something they’ve used before to support their selections.  I’m not buying.

Dickie V has been paid millions over the years by ESPN by promoting their power conferences and progressively diminishing the A-10 especially. He should have been an advocate for mid majors coming from Detroit U, but he helped create this mess. Weird (profanity), but it's always been in their game plan. The three or four other Power 5 conferences saw right through it and ESPN realized that was a bigger market. The Oligarchs of college basketbal have taken overl. Remember when you fill out your March Madness bracket this year, the refs have been told who will win and there will be no upsets outside a Jerry Falwell Liberty team and maybe the "Christian nationalist" college in Lipscomb maybe. The mormons will get every call and VCU will be one and done. Just the state of the union these days. Yay

We have had more than our share of nominees this past season.

Both wins were  by teams that run in transition and really blew out St.B., and St.L.  Oddly, DU was the highest scoring team  in transition in the  A-10 this year?  All season, DU played better on the run than in slow pace half court. I was surprised to see 6 A-10 teams in the NIT.

Re: NCAA tourn

Will Joyce pick up on that?   Play a faster pace next year?   SBU only usually plays 6-7 guys, run them into the ground.

The A10 got 6 because cowards like P5 “giant” Pitt rejects a bid.   Jeffy needs to hit that portal!!!

Re: NCAA tourn

Man… I thought the RE rants would be over since we had a coaching staff that actually made the NCAA Tournament. And who was a major piece of that coaching staff??

I think we just watched two up tempo teams run over two A-10 teams. Might make you think about how much we left on the court last season. A lot.

Well, imagine,  playing good defense without playing good offense is the only way to play BB too. KD did it all the time. I just watched two uptempo teams run over two A-10 teams, not the other way around.

When you play teams capable of hitting 100 points in reg, but your game plan is so slow, you plan to score 60 points? imagine just how many games you plan to win on a regular basis. .
