Extremely good team. We can’t get behind by a large margin or we will be in trouble. Must play mistake free with few turnovers to have a chance.

If we play like we did at Davidson, we should be Ok. Their talent is no greater than the Dukes. They have a decent center nicknamed the "Serbian Savage". But I like Dixon to handle him.

I point to the Nevada game in which I believe Coach Dru stopped the bleeding.Nevada just kicked the crap out of Boise State. Hugley if he is out so be it. I firmly believe Coach Dru stopped the bleeding and is going in the right direction. Go Dukes.

This feels like a shootout waiting to happen—both defenses allow north of 72 ppg. If Duquesne shoots efficiently (like their A-10-leading .497 FG%), crashes the boards, and makes VCU uncomfortable on the road, they can start 2-0 in conference with another statement win. Momentum is on their side after Davidson; capitalize early and close strong. Go Dukes 🏀

The Dukes have done pretty well against VCU both home and away in recent years. Beat them twice including for the A-10 Championship two years ago. Dropped a hotly contested game last year when Max Shulga had the game of his life.
I look for the Dukes to play well tomorrow, and get the win over VCU!

I feel like tomorrow is a now or never moment for Dixon in terms of being consistently good. His past performance suggests that he will come out tomorrow & pickup 2 fouls in the first 5 minutes after his strong performance at Davidson.
I feel good about him going into this one. I believe he sees his career winding down & nobody else to be the Dukes primary big. The conference season is a huge opportunity for him to enhance his pro prospects.
He has teased us before. It is time for him to lay all doubts to rest!

The Dukes have our own Serbian Lazar to neutralize their Serbian Lazar.

Agree. Think the Dukes will take care of business. Dollar beer days are a winner. Looking forward to this one.

Think the difference will be the Dukes defense. Getting better each game. Looking for a bust out game here by the Dukes putting the conference on notice. Dukes 85-73

Dixon has played 111 games. It's not now or never for him. He'll step up tomorrow unless the refs call the game close where he gets called for fouls for breathing on people lol. Either way he'll be a beast along with Necas, Milosevic Edwards, Jimmie and Alex Williams underneath tomorrow and the rest of the season.,

January 4, 2023: Jimmy Clark scores 26 points to lead the Dukes to a 79-70 victory over the Rams. His steal and off the bank board dunk brought the house down.

He went off that game. I loved Dambrots reaction when he threw it off of the backboard. I like our scoring right now. Our bigs just have to get more physical and assertive on offensive. D is improving. Positive momentum.

I'm feeling the same thing as most of the board. Taken as a whole, the non-conference was disappointing, but broken down more this team has been building toward something. Usually coaches want to build towards March, and I hope we can continue the positive momentum through then. The drama of the Davidson game was great, but it absolutely cannot be the team's peak. If this game was in Virginia I'd be worried. Coming back home I think the Dukes get it done today and keep the momentum going. Dukes 84 Rams 81.

No surprise here but officially no Hugley today.

I thought there might be some kind of announcement on his status when the calendar flipped to 2026.

The 111 games are why it is now or never for Big Dave. In all likelihood, he has less than 20 games left in his college career & he is yet to show he can put together 5, 10, or 18 consecutive games of strong, smart performances. If he can do that now, Dukes fans will be thrilled & his options for a professional career will multiply. Dixon has much to prove.

I can admit when I'm wrong. The team is better without him. He's a really good player, but sometimes in sports addition by subtraction happens. I wish him personally the best, but at this point there's no reason to bring him back to the floor.

9 total fouls called in under under 10 minutes.
Gotta do a job guarding the perimeter.
Offline
They play excellent defense n we have trouble getting off any 3 point shots.
Offline
-3-3PTs given up off offensive rebounds
-VCU 7-14 & +15 from 3PT
-50% FT shooting for Dukes
-2 early fouls for Jimmie
-11 fouls
Being down 12 at the half sucks, but all of these things are reversible. This game isn't over.
Gotta love what Jake & Milosevic have done.
Offline
Well they are playing to win right now. Just need to keep this up.

Great run to open the 2nd half, except Jimmie's 3rd foul of course.
More than 15 minutes to go & Dixon has 5 TOs.

Why is Cam playing over Jake?
