I know there aren’t many posts on Women’s basketball, but I was shocked at what I witnessed last night with Duquesne scoring only 38-points and losing to perennial doormat St. Bonaventure, at home! I tried my best to watch the game on SNP, but it was too painful! Duquesne’s offense was kind of pathetic, and mostly involved swinging the ball around to perimeter until Alexis Bordas was forced to take a three. Occasional attempts to toss it into the post were mostly fruitless. The offensive players show very little movement, and they are very easy to defend. They don’t seem to have anyone who can drive and break down a defense. I finally had to turn it off in frustration. The team literally lacked any direction.

I'll throw some of my thoughts out there as I have watched every game so far. First, this is a very young and inexperienced team. We have been pushed around by older and more experienced players all season. Only time can fix this. But what is really frustrating to me and makes it painful to watch is the turnovers and really bad shooting. Some of that should be fixable. In addition, injuries have not allowed us to put our best units out there every game. Overall, I think this is a very talented group of players with a high ceiling. The growing pains are going to be tough, but I'm not discouraged. In retrospect I wish Coach Burt would have brought in one veteran guard, maybe a grad student to help ease the transition. The transfer of Kiaku really hurt too. She's only playing about 11 minutes for Indiana, averaging a couple of points per game. She really could have helped this team.

I agree with everything Mike R has said. Jerni’s leaving hurt, but with the exception of Davidson they could have won every other A-10 game.
I don’t like posting here anymore because everything is so negative. When I tried to explain that I didn’t think the men’s program and Coach Dru should be held to such high standards (because the tournament team went on a lucky run to end the season….good teams need to be lucky) people jumped down my throat.
The women have not had a season like this in over 20 years. Give them some grace. I still watch and support them.
