Midwest Prospect Spotlight:
Name:Victor Aborowa
Class:2027
Position:Wing
Height:6’6
School:Andrew Osborne Academy(OH)
AAU:Indiana Elite
Victor is a very dynamic athlete with plus pop and burst offensively paired with smooth shooting mechanics, and a ton of defensive versatility due to his size, length, motor, and athleticism. He rebounds, defends on the ball, and off the ball as a rim protector or in the gap well causing deflections and often resulting in stocks. Does a good job getting small at his size but plays big on the offensive end and defensively as well. Is a very capable C&S guy and has a solid wingman skillset offensively. Good vs close outs and a tilted defense. Doesn’t do too much or try to play outside of himself. Skill level continues to improve and frame continues to fill out year by year. Currently holds offers across all D1 levels , and one college coaches will need to get eyes on this summer.
5-14-26 Prep Hoops #7 overall player & #2 SF in Ohio
Oozing with upside, Aborowa is a dynamic two-way wing who is a highflyer. Popping a couple times a game by making plays nobody else on the floor can make, Aborowa can play above the rim and swat shots that look out of reach. If the half court offense can become consistent, he could move up a couple more spots in these rankings. Another reason why I’m buying stock in Aborowa long term, his prep school coach raves about his work ethic. Those types of prospects usually end up figuring things out and the consistent improvement of Aborowa’s game has stood out.

One of the worst things about the NIL era is that it makes recruiting out of high school almost meaningless. At least that’s what it seems like to me. There was once a time I would’ve been very excited about recruiting a 3 star prospect (see Austin, Maceo).
Now, the prospect will either redshirt his first year, and look to transfer to a school where they guarantee him playing time. Or he’ll start and move on to a P5 school.
