Offline When Duquesne was a good program, I used to feel sorry for teams that were as bad as these two tonite, now Duquesne is one of those teams..... Offline So much for that 5 year building it the right way plan ... Offline Indy that was perfect, maybe Harper and Gormley are viewing!!! Offline I do know that it's too late to change my predicted number of wins for the season. However, for the record, my amended number is 9 or 10. I could not be more disappointed. While I was sorry to see a new coach come here four plus years ago, I thought that surely Jim Ferry had finally learned how to win while at LIU. Obviously there was an error in my thinking. I'll be back when the next coach shows up. Offline I felt it was a very odd feeling in the arena last night, with it being so empty, but beyond that, no Duquesne students at the game, and no Pep Band. The Cheerleaders were there, but never were able take the floor during time outs and could only do their thing from the baseline. I wonder if RM set ground rules that restricted activity on the part of the Dukes cheerleaders and band. Offline I'm looking forward to after 15 straight losses to Robert Morris, Duquesne UPSETS them, the 3 students from the Black & Blue Crew storm the court, and an article is written the next day under the High School golf team winter workout schedule. Then again, I may pass away, I'm not getting any younger. So Sad! Offline Absolutely Levon. The following were differences I noticed from the other night: no Duq dancers, no Duke mascot, no pep band, students weren't allowed on the end in same section, no Duq video intro, no music at all during duq starting lineup. This absolutely was done on purpose and it worked. It was like a glorified high school game atmosphere I'm looking forward to after 15 straight losses to Robert Morris, Duquesne UPSETS them, the 3 students from the Black & Blue Crew storm the court, and an article is written the next day under the High School golf team winter workout schedule. Then again, I may pass away, I'm not getting any younger. So Sad! Offline Couple of thoughts I had while watching 2nd half last night. When Sanders was wobbly after getting run over he had missed 5 straight free throws. Ferry should should have got him to the bench and convinced him he was too hurt to shoot the free throws. Hell Mike Rice would have had somebody shooting all his free throws. I hope if the situation arises where we have a 3 pt, lead at the end we play it the same way Bobby Mo did. Foul em don't let a 3 tie the game.

I think the main difference however was that unlike the City Game, where regardless of which school is technically the home team, there are two student sections two bands, and the publicity announcements are split between the two schools. Both schools introduce their star athletes from other sports like football at halftime. There is kind of a mutual sharing of the event. In the game last night I felt like I was in such a controlled atmosphere, strictly orchestrated by the RM Propaganda Minister. They were clearly stating that is was their home game and Duquesne wasn't being treated with any hospitality at all. I remember only one time when the overhead scoreboard, focused on the Duquesne Cheerleaders for an instant, then quickly shifted to the RM cheerleaders; almost like it was a mistake!
By the way, this is not excuse but there were several times when our guys were hammered going to the basket when it looked like they would score a layup, and no calls! I just think it was in RM's best interest to allow the game to become like a brawl rather than a basketball game. It was officiate quite unlike any other game I have seen this year, where officials are calling touch fouls 25 feet from the basket. I don't think this crew of officials read their copy of the "Points of Emphasis" for this year in College basketball.
Still, even with the odd atmosphere you have to find a way to beat a team like RM; way too many unforced turnovers; just poor decision-making on the part of our guys.

Again hello Dave don't get get sucked into your staff aka "The Survivors". Did anyone read the PG article which praised the new PITT AD 's leadership. What did he do? Brought back to the detran hosed PITT alumni who ALL walked away because of Pederson. Secondly he reduced his Dept by 3/4 . New blood equals a return to Pitt football.Basketball maybe an issue. Atleast Pitt gets more then a Catholic Highschool game . 800. Yeah it's the A -10 my friends.. Blow it up because the new coach will face an uphill battle based upon the current state of this Catholic gradeschool program.
