Martin took over when Huggy left. Martin actually left Northeastern for Cincinnati and then reunited with Huggins at K-State after two years in Cincy. I don't know if you'd call this "a product of the Everhart tree," but Martin worked for Ron for four years and took a job as an assistant at Kansas State when Ron came to Duquesne.
The rest is history for Martin.
