DU will play three days in the Bahamas. The Bahamas tourney is all mid-majors. Includes Vermont, Bradley, Duquesne, Weber St., Coastal Carolina, No. Kentucky and Texas-San Antonio. All of those teams are true mid majors, as opposed to the Dukes, who are a high major, G5(basketball), or high mid major, depending on who is writing the article. A good A10 team beats all of those schools. DU will play three days in the Bahamas. The Bahamas tourney is all mid-majors. A10, MWC, AAC, and lately, the WWC are considered a step above the mid major level, because they are usually multi bid leagues, who frequently place teams in the Top 25. Institutionally, the BE also belongs in that category, but they've performed well enough to be considered a "major", at least for now. Not in women's hoops though. They are strictly G5 there. Good job with the scoop, Steel City AJ. DU will play three days in the Bahamas. The Bahamas tourney is all mid-majors. Thats a nice group, and a nice destination. Probably wont get one game on tv from the whole tourn, but would be nice and set a tone if the Dukes can win it or at least show signs of becoming a legit team again. When we played that tourney in Florida recently, no games were televised but everyone was available on the internet for free. I expect the same for this tournament. They will likely have all the games streaming for free as they try to gain exposure for their tournament. Thats a nice group, and a nice destination. Would like to see us play Vermont and see the coach so many of us wanted. Not to mention a coach who's a rising star but that we never really talked about (John Brannen at N. Kentucky) and a coach that ED lobbied for early on but no one else picked up on (Tim Cluess at Iona). Hats off to that writer, he sounds really excited about it. I'm really not, though wouldn't mind visiting the Bahamas that time of year. I had brought up Cleuss' name once but pointed out the obvious flaw: If he didn't succeed, he'd have been labeled Clueless Cleuss. True, you made it clear that you weren't actually advocating for Cluess' hiring, just that you liked his approach and the results he was getting at Iona. Of course you also made it clear you didn't think there was any possibility Ferry would be fired. You may have even made a wager of sorts about that...;-) I honestly believed there was no way Ferry would get fired. With a couple years left on his contract for big money, and knowing Duquesne's history, I did not see that coming. I underestimated everyone from the Board (who I attacked pretty viciously) to President Gormley to Mr. Harper. Dukes 2012 - Technically we are higher than a mid-major but realistically we have been at or below their level the last five years. This is a good litmus test to let the coach know where he is...and where he needs to go with the higher level of competition.

According to Sean Gentille, this tournament pairs the Dukes with every coach who turned them down.
I'm kidding of course. Unless that info is on Wikipedia.

But Dennis, while most people would get mad at someone shining a light on their (my) stupidity, I appreciate that you not only read my posts, but that you also process them correctly.
And I'm glad you're back!
