Mike James Back on the Big Stage

I'm sure most have heard of he new "Big3" basketball league that started this year. A bunch of former NBA players (mostly big names) coached by older former players (even bigger names) play in a ten game league that is financially incentivized. Winning team splits 2 million or something. Guys like Allen Iverson, Rashard Lewis, and Jason Williams all are featuring.

Mike James is a member of the team known as "Tri State", which is coached by Dr. J himself. Other members of the team include Jermaine O'Neal and Bonzie Wells. The games are held at different locations each week. Yesterday was the debut and they played at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, of which we are familiar. James team won and he had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Game recaps below:

Here are some pictures of James in action, he still looks like he is in great shape:

These games are nationally televised, I was going to try to watch some of it anyway but now that I know James is playing I will have a team to root for!

Re: Mike James Back on the Big Stage

I would love to see Barkley and Shaq going at it. Mano-a-mano. Their "feuds" during NBA telecasts are a riot! McHale and Rambis would be a hoot, too, but I doubt that 50 year olds are playing. Have to tune in.

Shaq isn't 50, but the other 3 are well past it. Of course, while Barkley and Shaq are all time greats, Rambis isn't within 1,000 miles of the player McHale was. There was a point in 1984, where he was playing at a level that even Bird wasn't at. Great, great player. Virtually unstopable around the basket, as was Shaq of course.
