Offline I am so proud of this team for playing the FBS Hawaii Rainbow Warriors tough and never quitting. I had been to the UMass game and I also watched Hawaii s high powered offense score 60 points against Navy and figured that our Dukes and especially the defense were in for a long night. They were and they didn't back down drawing tons of praise from the Hawaii announcers including that Duquesne covered their receivers better than any team they had played so far! There are too many players to mention for their efforts( without AJ )and the coaches had them prepared to step up . I now have a feel for this years team and I'm looking forward to NEC play with high optimism and hopefully injuries are not going to stop this tough group of Dukes! Using a rule meant to protect players as a means of turning momentum and disqualifying a good player sets a terrible precedent in the game. What a shame they had to stoop to that tactic. Offline My two favorite quotes from last night's game against Hawaii. First from their coach and the second from their forum. Offline In case you were smart and went to bed at a decent hour last night and missed the game, its archived on Stadium for free. Offline We got no respect before the game there. I'm sure they won't want to schedule us again in their lifetimes. Offline We got no respect before the game there. I'm sure they won't want to schedule us again in their lifetimes.

Dukes Earn Respect in Hawaii
Re: Dukes Earn Respect in Hawaii
Waking up pretty tired but not unhappy this morning. The game lasted past 3:00 am.
Considering we played without our best running back and his backup, we did well as a one dimensional offense and the defense created opportunities in the first half.
The refs missed a couple of interference calls that the Hawaii announcers thought were obvious and took away a fumble recovery on a targeting call that they also didn't agree with. The announcers were homers but they gave the Dukes an honest call when the refs didn't. They praised the Dukes all night as a well coached team and were worried at the half.
This was a big game for the program.
Now if the PG and Trib and local cable would notice that we have more than one University in town... no preview... nothing even in district round up!

"Lots of disappointment from many players tonight who were hoping for some playing time." (They had to keep their starters in all game.)
"The FCS dookies are making a game... WTF Hawaii??"
