Offline 7:00pm EST tip on Wednesday 11/23/2022 at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse, Pittsburgh, PA Last edited by PhoenixRising2 (11/23/2022 10:39 am) Offline It's still early, but the Dukes are now 5th in the A10 rankings per Ken Pom; strong start by the Dukes combined with struggles by other teams in non conference play. A logjam in the middle; with only 24 ranking points separating 5th through 10th. Offline Need to get this W tonight, and then get healthy and prepare for better opponents ahead. UCSB, Marshall, DePaul are just a few of what should be solid tests. They are all at home, so thats nice. Last edited by townsonkid (11/23/2022 12:23 pm) Offline Dukes short handed again tonight. Offline Need to get this W tonight, and then get healthy and prepare for better opponents ahead. UCSB, Marshall, DePaul are just a few of what should be solid tests. They are all at home, so thats nice. ESPN+ has been excellent to date. Offline In other news Dayton has 14 at halftime vs. Wisconsin and Georgetown lost to American, who probably adjusted their game to Primo Spears after he got one of his six wins against them last year. You may need to pause the ESPN+ feed a few seconds to account for the IHeart feed delay to catch up. Offline Need to get this W tonight, and then get healthy and prepare for better opponents ahead. He doesn't shut up and doesn't have anything relevant to say about the play by play, defensive schemes, what's working and what's not. Feels like he's rooting for the opposing team at times. Really annoying to listen to. Offline I got the radio feed, much better. Thanks Last edited by townsonkid (11/23/2022 7:41 pm) Offline How on earth is there a commercial break when the game is in progress. This is the most bs thing that I've ever seen! Does Harper even know this? Does anybody care that this looks like a penny ante operation? My goodness, can't we be somewhat professional! If I wasn't a die hard fan, I'd just laugh and change stations! Offline Great win! Offline I got the radio feed, much better. Thanks Rotroff got better as the game went on, but he missed 5 bunnies in the paint in the first half Offline This is a good win for the short handed Dukes playing its second game in 48 hours. If you are trying to find the fly poop in the pepper shaker you are missing the big picture. Let's get healthy and keep on rolling. Go Dukes! Offline This is a good win for the short handed Dukes playing its second game in 48 hours. If you are trying to find the fly poop in the pepper shaker you are missing the big picture. Let's get healthy and keep on rolling. Go Dukes! Agreed, CLK. And Rotroff was 4-5 from the field, 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in likely a career high 27 minutes. Let’s critique that performance, sheesh. Offline Nice win. Wish some of these new faces could be on the 8 year plan like Austin. If we get healthy and is Easly is on board, this could be a really good team Offline Looked up at the scoreboard and the rebounds were 21 to 3. I thought for sure that was a mistake but I guess it wasn't. Hated the construction as I got headed in the wrong direction for a bit. Lot of banging going on. Kids will be sore tomorrow. Offline Agreed, CLK. And Rotroff was 4-5 from the field, 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in likely a career high 27 minutes. Let’s critique that performance, sheesh. I didn't realize he was 4-5, I stand corrected. Based on my watching live, it seemed like he missed more than 1 shot. My error Offline Looked up at the scoreboard and the rebounds were 21 to 3. Based on my watching live, it seemed like he missed more than 1 shot. My error He did miss one close one but i think got fouled. Offline Media Presser Notes: Offline In A10 news, Jordan Goodwin from SLU got his first career NBA start tonight for the Washington Wizards. He had 8 points and 3 assists in 25 minutes in a loss to the heat. He has been impressing since he got called up, enough to get the start. He scored 20 and 14 points respectively in the games Duquesne won in 2020 and didn't do much scoring in the split series 2019 despite getting heavy minutes. He also scored 13 on the Dukes in St. Louis back in 2018. Offline Nice win. Wish some of these new faces could be on the 8 year plan like Austin. If we get healthy and is Easly is on board, this could be a really good team I agree. If Austin can stay healthy the interior game is a plus. Dixon is good and should improve with each game going forward, He will be more effective once he learns how to stay out of foul trouble. Offline Well cant say enough about how well this team is jelling right now. I know its early but these guys play with the TEAM concept first and share the ball. No one is a glory hound. Even Grant who could probably lead the league in scoring is unselfish, great ball handler and passer himself. I hope Easley comes back but only if hes on board with the team first no gunner attitude. But is it me or does the feed keep going to commercial during action?
Looks like another close game. Cant rebound so far.

Williams missed a few close ones early but got going in the 2nd half.
Dukes had 11 blocks, dixon 5, rotroff 4, williams 2.
When Dixon develops some low block moves he’s gonna be something to watch.

-Coach thinks the best stretch of the game is when Rozier and Mcgriff were on the floor together.
-"We have to take the charge if we are going to be a good team"
-"Joe [Reece] is closer...we got a good report on him...well not a good report but it could've been worse. RJ [Gunn] is going to be touch and go we'll see how it goes. Barre is still a ways away." are they calling him Chavi? is that Halil Barre's nickname?
-"In the first half I wasn't trying to box out I was just trying to out jump everybody that's me bring a freshman I'm still learning things" - Dixon

I like our front court play very much now and when we are healthy this will be a bonus on top of that.
I know Dambrot has taken a lot of criticism the last year and rightfully so but we also need to appreciate the job hes doing now with game and player management. I like his substitution patterns also.
Lets Get UCSB
Go Dukes
