Was watching Bishop Gorman vs. Coronado and announcers said that he was getting interest from Duquesne and they also mentioned 2 other big conference schools which I can/t remember He's a 6'2 SG and a 2021 recruit.

Dukes definitely need a 2 guard that can score, and has the size and strength to defend.  The talent level and athleticism on the team in general must be raised if they intend to compete for an A-10 title in the future.

We have two very good guards coming in next season that I think fit that description.  Check out these Tweets from yesterday regarding Tyson Acuff. The last tweet is an interview he gave after the game last night.  Interesting comment by the interviewer at the end.

CLK, thanks for the tweet links; I had a chance to watch that interview - I have extremely high hopes about Tyson for a number of reasons.  Here's today's article on the Mr. Michigan competition:  https://www.mlive.com/highschoolsports/2020/01/mlives-mr-basketball-watch-list-update-for-jan-27.html

I’m aware of Tyson Acuff and Jett Roesing; and I like them both as far as I could see from video,  and a game Jett played at Woodland Hills last week.  Acuff is a point guard, and Braggs is a 2-guard from what I gather.  Jett is a shooter, no doubt about that; but you want another option at the 2.  Teams can face guard the shooter and make it hard to get him the ball, just as they did with Micah Mason.  We often play 3-guards anyway so there is plenty of Playing time for guards.

Acuff has a powerful build, decent size, & good athleticism for an A-10 point guard. He really looks like a great signing. I'm just not sure he is actually a point guard. He looks somewhat similar to Miller in that regard. Things may be very crowded at the 2 next season with Norman, TDM, Jett, Miller, & Acuff.

Because Buckley hasn't burst out of the gates, I am a bit concerned for the longterm depth at that position. I love Sin but this program really needs another dependable game runner in the pipeline. I really hope Evan is on a strong developmental track. He certainly came in with a reputation for being a hard worker. Being a freshman point guard ain't easy. Here's hoping he's getting better every day.

I wouldn’t be concerned with too many 2-guards; Since right now they don’t have one that is helping the team consistently.  Both guys have been spotty. The term used the describe Acuff might be “combo” guard. The important thing is that one or more of those guys has point guard skills to allow KD to rest Sin without the roof caving in.  So they need Acuff, Miller or Buckley to be able to handle the point for short periods during tough games.  Right now they don’t seem to have that guy.

From what I have seen on video Tyson is an excellent passer and ball handler and would be primarily a point guard, However, he can shoot and play the 2, and can post up and rebound well enough to play the 3.  He has a college ready body and will help to immediately plug some holes. Here is a tweet with another video:

He moves with incredible speed, power, and grace.

He is unselfish but can dominate at anytime.

Tonight he had 27 pts 10 reb 9 ast 6 stls 3b

The more video I see of this young man, the more that I like him. He appears to have a college ready game with a body that already looks A-10 ready.
